Im about to buy a fmic and i don't know which one to get right now im leaning towards the cp-e. Just because it's compatible with almost any intake. If I can any some opinions from people that has these intercoolers that be great.

The cp-e is not centered, some people like aesthetics.

The CS includes a ram-air box where the now TMIC sits and also includes a turbo inlet.

All of them are similar performance wise and you should be happy with any one of them.

I'm sure more people will respond as I'm also new to this.

The cp-e not being centered would drive someone like me CRAZY!!! If you want performance on the cheap, everyone on the other forum raves about how great their exhaust depot fmics are. I love the look, performance, and reputation of Cobb, so personally if I could get one of those, that would be my first choice. Although, I have been recently looking into the corksport kit. Turn the intercooler around (no logo), and you're good to go. I also like that the ram air hood/grill is still functional and you get the turbo inlet.

Even though people claim no issues, I still worry about water though......

I had the CS kit in Washington state for an entire winter with no issues from water entering the intake.

I think hes talking about how the corksport one still uses the ram air box but for the intake. i believe he is worried about water entering there.

What do you mean the cp-e is not centered?

Argh guess I'm going with Cobb

It had to do with something on the bumper, in order to avoid modifying it or something, they had to make it off-centered. So when you look through the grill, it sits to the side a bit.

This should do it...

Nope, couldn't live with that. You don't pay a grand for s*** that doesn't fit right

well said :) a fmic that doesnt fit perfectly in the center should cost 1/2 the price or at least be one of thos eknockoffs from EBAY, Any real brand named fmic should fit perfectly centered. I personally like the turbo xs with the extra large core size (bowdown)

You can look at that 2 ways

1. It's so big no one can tell if it's not centered

2. It's so big most people can't tell there's an intercooler in there!!

Oh, and just to make your decision even harder, I just found a posting on the other forum where someone built a fmic for about $350. Someone else has to give this one a try!

that is probably what I will end up doing. I may just buy a godspeed core on ebay and find the correct piping setup, shouldn't be too hard.

thanks u guys for ur help I decided to get the cp-e. I was really thinking about getting the Cobb for the name and the quality ur going to get. But the thing that killed me was that u have to use the short ram intake. I'm not about to wait a month for intake. The corksport is pretty bad ass. But the truth I'm not a hugh fan of the ram air. Because later on when I buy a carbon fiber hood I dont want to drill into it to install the ram air. I all ready have an injen intake. And I know that cp-e does make really good quality parts I all ready have afull turboback with them. It does suck that its not centered it kinda looks tacky. But I'm painting it black so u can't really notice it that much. And thanks to Zack from protege garage for putting up with bs. Thanks again for the help(blowup)(blowup)

you cannot even tell the cp-e core is off center unless you REALLY look closely at it. the kit fits absolutely perfect, not one problem, and it includes everything you need. the only thing i dislike is the cp-e logo, i wish it could be flipped like the corksport kit. the ram air box and inlet with the corksport is also a very good idea, but i just feel better with a kit that is considered of "the best quality"
