fmic kit help needed

on going project to begin, want to get it all laid out.

Plan to boost ~10 psi. What IC kit do you recommend, SMIC or FMIC and which one. BOV or BPV or both??

I would like a kit that have polished hardpipes if available, most I see are powdercoated.

please help

I am thinking about the MAM kit but have not seen enough pics or test results to justify yet.

the MAM msp fmic kit is all stainless powdercoated. its basically the same fmic kit offered in the Street Sleeper kit and the Thumper kit (huge hp numbers) the IC itself is good for up to 500 hp, and is very efficient.

I know you really want polished, but I don't know of any kit that has polished pipes. stainless powdercoated, bare stainless, or chrome mild steel are the only options I can currently think of.

the benefits of the MAM kit do offer quite a bit in lieu of polished pipes. it comes with a changable SRI or CAI, and the BoostSciences Reflex BPV that reciculates to prevent any stalling.

it really is a top notch kit. and if you really wanted to I bet Beau could have the pipes polished instead of powder coated for a little extra money and time. but you'd have to get in touch with him on that one.

good luck with your car, I'm sure whatever route you go you won't be terribly disappointed

thanks for the help, i think i will go with the MAM kit, you do get quite a bit for the 1200 bucks. I have already sent a email to MAM from the "Contact us" section on their site, I am in no hurry so hopefully they can do it. I am just trying to get my plan laid out, the purchase will not be made for a few months.

CDNMSP, I will mention it to him next time I talk with him for you!
:)

If you have anything else that you need, feel free to get in touch with me or ryan. we can help you out :)

If you're only going to be running 10psi with atleast a downpipe, a SMIC and the stock BPV will be fine. You may want to look at getting a set of hardpipes to minimize any pressure drop the SMIC doesn't take care of.

We can do have the pipes polished for $50 extra and 1 week longer lead time. Here is a thread with pictures and info on the Mental Addiction FMIC

I saw some pics of the early prototype, and let me tell you, it is by far the best intake system out there for us. If I didn't have a PWR radiator, I would be getting it with my kit. The CAI is more or less a SRI that draws in fresh air through where the stock IC sits. If you want a intake that doesn't sit up in the front, then the pipe can be turned so the filter sits in the engine bay instead of up in the front grill.

I recommend the ION Kit, but you have to wait for it. Or you can pay extra and get it from Kenitics Motorsports.

I like the iON kit, and it is definitely one of the best out there for people that don't mind some cutting and want to run less than 350hp. The iON kit is nowhere near as complete as the Mental Addiction setup though. I had engine cooling and AC problems after I put in my FMIC, and that issue will be taken care of with the fans that are included with the Mental Addiction kit. The Mental Addiction piping is almost as direct as the iON kit but requires no cutting. The Mental Addiction piping comes powdercoated, a aftermarket BPV is included, and you also get the best intake system out there.

I think that Beau has really upped the anty with his kit, and that is something that I thought was impossible in the msp market that was already saturated with FMIC kits. He offers the best overall setup, and does it at a price that blows away the competition when you consider what is included.

I would look around for used kits. Ther have been a few Ion kits as of late, and I picked one up for relatively cheap.
Tekkie is selling one now for $700 USD.

how does my BEGI FMIC compare to the MAM? Im sure Ill never boost enough to need a better IC, just wondering how it stacks up, from my experience the begi fmic performs great and is less than the other fmics.

We have the kits in stock and ready to ship. Our pipes are chrome plated and the intercooler is a Spearco core with cast aluminum end tanks.
Comes with everything including the BOV. $900.00 Shipped!

The dyno results are about 220 WHP at 10 psi with cat back exhaust.
