FMIC installation

I did a search but couldnt find what I was looking for. Made up my mind on a FMIC instead of the TRZ TMIC. TRZ will only be worth it if i get the CO2 kit which will bump the price significantly over a FMIC. Anyway just wondering how hard a FMIC install is. Basically how long does it take and is there any irreversible (sawing / drilling). Or if anyone has the instructions scanned or a link that would be great. The isntall doesnt seem that hard. Also with my mods and a FMIC would you guys recommend tuning? I dont plan on getting a downpipe for a while (still holding my warranty). Appreciate any help.

Also anyone with a corksport willing to shine some light? Im thinking about that one but ill have to ditch my CAI. How does the corksport intake sound ??

The FMIC install takes ~5-6 hours. Send me a PM with your email address and I can send over a copy of the installation instuctions.

Thanks
Derrick

i would venture to say that it may be dangerous to run an fmic, testpipe + exhaust, and intake without ecu tune, if it were me i would wait on the fmic install and buy an accessport. i guess the dash hawk will tell you what you want to know though.

thx for the responses guys. Im second guessing the front mount now. According to the instructions it takes like 5 hours with some cutting. Im trying to stick to bolt on and thats just a bit too much :). What are the risks of the FMIC?? I know it can block some air from hitting the radiator but is there anything else that could potentially lead to problems ?

you might go 88 miles an hour causing your flux capacitor to send you back to the year 1954. I think that since you and i appear to be going down similar paths you really ought to do the cobb ap or standback first. Enjoy the immediate power gains and know you can properly support future plans, from what ive seen its half the cost of a front mount intercooler as well, not as sexy though.

Thanks for the responses. Just want to make sure I have enough supporting mods before I get a tune so it cant be worthwhile / so I dont go zoom zoom boom.

Ive looked around and ive seen people debating the FMIC not because of expense or install but because of possible problems. I would like to find out what problems people may experience when getting a FMIC instead of a TMIC.

I do a search for FMIC but nothing comes up . . . very weird.

Any help greatly appreciated.
