Flames?!?

I just recently discovered that my '07 MS3 has thick black marks on rear valance right above the exhaust tip. A portion of it is even chared, and crumbling as if someone took a torche to it! I still have both cats installed and no remaining mods on the car other than my motor mounts. Has anyone else had this problem?? I'll also note that i have never seen this, until i just recently had my turbo changed out by mazda due to an extensive smoking issue.

I did. I went to a muffler shop, had top extended out to be a tad bit past the bumper, and then replaced the valence. It's a PIA, have to take off bumper to do it. I think if you idel a lot, it will happen.

Thanks for the info... atleast now I know im not the only one. I might just order the open valence from DG. I'm curious if it has anything to do with the new turbo, but I can't see how. Atleast it adds a couple of "badass points" to the car!
