First Speeding Ticket Evar

Here's another question. Let's say I can get it down to a fine with no points. Will my insurance company still know about it and raise my premiums?

Each company is different as to chargeable points that affect your premium. Most use the 15MPH and over rule as it pertains to speeding. They can pull comprehensive MVRs, which detail your violations.

You need to accept the fact that you were speeding and go to traffic school. That will elimnate your points and make you look better as an insured.

Your insurence company will be able to see a non-points speeding violation. I wouldn't worry about that with your insurence since that's your first offence and there were no other violations on the ticket.

As I've said in my previous posts, go to court, ask to plea it down to a non-points speeding. If they say no, pay the fine and accept it. You can ask for that in the preliminary hearing that sets your court date and I didn't have any court fees for that.

thread jacking here

I got a ticket near the beggining of march, i sent the ticket in saying i was gonna fight it. Now, I still havnt recieved a court date yet, am i supposed to call or something. My luck ill get pulled over next time im going to Houston and thrown in the slammer

Uhhhh...I'm not sure how Texas does it, but in Ohio if you plan on fighting the ticket you have to show up in court at the time listed on the ticket. If you fail to appear or pay the fine by that point then you're in much bigger trouble.

If I were you I'd call or else you may get picked up for an outstanding warrent.

I had speeding ticket court today. Got off with nothing!!! I didn't even have to say a word. The prosecutor just said, "You need to slow down" and let me off. Easiest ticket Iv'e ever fought.

Small Update

Well I guess being issued a speeding ticket puts me on some kind of mailing list because I came home to not one but two lawyer solicitaions in my mailbox. "Free consultation" is written all over the place. This is amazing. They even have the summons number and court case on them.
