finding intake leaks

This past weekend after making a couple tuning runs, I got a massive intake leak. my idle was up to 1800 and the car would buck like crazy when I would try to drive. lucky I had the laptop with me I was able to tune the fuel map around leak so I could drive it home.

so I built a leak tester from a 50mm pcv pipe cap and tire valve stem.

I also picked up 50 to 100mm section so later I can clamp it down on front of my turbo and leak test the entire intake system.

I ordered a piece of 100mm hose so I could clamp it on the front of the turbo. just a test fit.

installed in the intake for testing

installed a check valve on the brake master. under boost I would loose brakes. This should help

testing turned out not to be the FPR but it was rear secondary injector grommet

testing the leak tester. the secondary injector grommets where leaking like crazy

found some leaks on the TB The top one can fixed easy by shutting it.
but it was also leaking out around the area where the butterfly shaft comes out I dont know how I can fix that part.

Well after fixing up the injector leaks. I still have a massive leak under the intake my guess is between the LIM and engine. I had a exhust stud snap off inside the rear housing a few weeks ago when I was installing the manifold. so I'm going to pull the engine out this week. Fix the exhaust stud and check for leaks while I have it on the engine stand.

every turbo vehicle owner should have one of those testers in their tool box...they can fix soooo many problems. I gave mine to a friend with a SRT-4 but need to build another for working on friends cars
