Finally posting some pictures ^_^;;

Are they actually auto or paddle shift? (I don't know what other auto makers call DSG)

It's going to be Toyota's version of a DSG - hardly a slushbox, but I still like the connected feel of a manual.

I poo poo'd the DSG until I drove one. Seriously, it was bad assed. I used to have a Chrysler 300M sport with Chrysler's manu-matic. That was just an auto you could select gears in. Very sloppy and delayed between shifts. VW's DSG is right there, right now shifting. It's FASTER than I could ever shift. FLat stand the gas and pull the paddle. DONE. I loved it. All of those arcade Formula 1 games are finally paying off.

Cool - that's what I've read. My only experience with one was in a tempermental 1st year Z4, I'm sure the newest offerings are better.

It's a slushy. It has a TORQUE CONVERTER. Yup. Read the article.

Even DSG is automatic, albeit a fancy one sans torque converter.

DSG is a manual with two clutches. It can do the shifting for you, so some people might call it an auto based on that; however, it does not have a torque converter.

*edit* I just noticed that you did say it (DSG) doesn't have one. lol~ ^_^;;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-Shift_Gearbox

It's supposed to be able to shift faster than any human being could which makes cars featuring DSG faster than conventional autos and even the good old manuals. Despite all the benefits, I still prefer the feel of mechanical engagement conventional manual gearboxes provide. *^_^*

Hey, they could have given you an Aveo like they did me!

Are Aveos actually worse than Cobalts? o_O If that's really true (however subjective it maybe), that'd be a feat by itself. (first)

You are correct sir - I just happen to have my March issue of Car and Driver here. "The IS-F gets the LS460's eight-speed automatic that has been modified with manumatic paddle shifters and rev-matching downshifts." (notcool) Whatever - It kicks my four-speed manumatic up and down the block lol!

I sure hope a particular 2 seater is included in your 3 car exception... (evil)

the sky is, but the solstice is just ugly to me. the gto is nice as well as its cousin the CTS, and the new vettes (which i still wouldnt buy for the money they want),

what do 2 outta these 3 chassis have in common? they are all designed by gm's overseas divisions. so what does that say about there "heartbeat of america" image...

i think this commercial sums it up best because we all know who its aimed at...
