Finally Painted around gauges

i finally painted my gauge cluster and outer part by the wheel. i dunno what it's called. with helpful tips from hihoslva, it was pretty easy. i didn't do so bad for the first time spray painting, but it came out pretty good.

that looks good... im thinking about silver my self.. what kind of paint did you use...and exactly what color.

i got my stuff at walmart. stuff called Dupli Color Import Auto Spray 5 oz. bottle. 88-00910 ARCTIC SILVER Mcc
that's what it says on the top. it's no more than $5.

here's what it looks like:

hope this helps, also ask hihoslva about painting interiors with spray, he used something else, but he's done a lot of his interior while i just want my gauge cluster.

these gauges are like a no name lol. they aren't APC. i got em on ebay. if you plan on getting indiglos, dont waste your money on APC just buy them on ebay they're a lot cheaper.

i went over the dash about like hmm let's say 4-5 times lol i had 2 make sure it was a nice silver. i didn't spray the whole thing in one shot though. i did like the side, let it dry, then opposite side. like that but i put about 3-5 coats.

i finaly got mine off.... started to paint it.... damn... i suck ... dont ever let me paint your things... what may take you 1 or 2 cans of paint to do is like 4 to 5 for me.... i dont know.... i guess im just trying too hard to make it look clean.... it could be that i cant wait that long for it to be done...

don't rush man. when u paint it, just put a light coating. dont put too much that u see liquid dripping and s*** lol. just put enough that it looks wet but not overdone, let it dry for about 5 minutes or more than put another coat.

what kind of paint are you using? it only took 1 can 2 paint em. i probably still have a lot in the can also.

Did you have to sand it a lil ore anything... also how do you go about cleaning the dash without it chipping the paint like what protectant products?

i dont think you need to sand it down. all i did was use dishwasher soap and cleaned it up... also the protectant product that i use to clean my dash is meguiar's gold class endurance high gloss. I would use it if you like the high gloss look. very bright shine. and if you use this.. its pretty sticky at first.. after you apply it... you want to go over it with a rag. to clean up a bit.

Good God!!!! the silver has a bright glare on the gauges.. I noticed it when i first put it back.... and then took it out again... wow. good thing i really only drive a night.
