Where is the filter on that ?

It is right inside the housing. You can see the MAF sticking out the back. The chamber inside is wide enough for the filter and then slims down towards the front.

Ohh... its a cone filter in the "CF" box ! I see now

It's called the Aero Intake. I had one, too. Didn't work so well. Heh.

The piping is enormous, and baaarely fits by the stock master cylinder. That being said, the Injen barely clears the 929 master cylinder, too.

K&N filter w/ grill mod

Chose the stock with grill mod. However, installed K&N airfilter.
Anybody have thoughts that a CAI might be a "little much" in cold weather states when the P5 is my everyday driver? This is all a bit new to me.

I ran mine at -40 degrees celcius with no problems.

I have an X3 racing CAI (similiar design to an injen), plus I have the AEM by-pass. I have had no problems in any weather. Massive rain, snow, or heat. The car ran great in the winter. Understand that cold air is one reason they are great, but increase air and velocity is another. You have a cleaner intake path. I think the aero intake would be great for people with turbos. They do not need velocity, but colder air would help. But having it near the top instead of in the fender well helps when you are piping an intercooler. Also I think it would allow for sucking in more cold air from outside since most turbos are pretty close to where this is installed.

I have an ebay CAI that I am happy with, but it doesn't have a "K&N" filter, just a generic one. I just can't justify spending $250-300 on one when the ebay one cost $60 shipped.

Hey any1 know?,

What was the part # for the K&N filter do we use for a weapon r intake?

i didn't pick any on that poll. i got the WR Secret Weapon-R. they have a very unique design where they run a secondary intake tubing in the center of the intake. this is meant to cause a vaccum effect to bring more air in at a greater speed. whether it actually works that way.....who knows? but it i'm pretty happy

Got any pics of your setup? Thinkin about going with wr secret intake

Stock bracket noted..................was the provided one inadequate or missing? I musta missed somethin. Isn't that what everyone does that doesn't have the INJEN?

If you do the grill mod and leave the snorkel in place, you'll get the advantage of ingesting ambient temperature intake air. If you remove the snorkel, you'll then be ingesting hot, underhood air. This will reduce your HP output. Considering only the relationship of intake air temperature to HP, the power varies essentially as the square root of the change in ABSOLUTE temperature.

You may hate that obnoxious piece of plastic as you call it but it does serve an important function.

i disagree, i tried it for a week with just the snorkel and then took it off just to try, there was a defff difference in power, ur right at a stop it will take in hot air but when moving there's lots of cool air that goes right to the hole in the box and there's lots of zoom zoom especially on a hot day wow!!! but its all preference, im pretty sure that snorkel does nothing, the weather here is terrible aka wet and slushy all the time, i check the box daily almost just to make sure no water or anything is getting in there and there's never anything. thats just what ive found so there's my 2 cents, take it or leave it ;)

no i bought mine second hand. the majority of people fab a bracket and hang it from one of the bolts that secures the radiator until the res breaks. I havent seen what actually comes with the INJEN CAI's. I made the stock bracket fit and it works better than rigging it.
