Correction:

e-bay = knockoff of injen CAI. Same gains (after filter replacement), basically the same looks (the piping is an exact replica).. a few rough edges here and there (literally, some sharp burrs inside the piping left in there sometimes).

Corection??

Who said e-bays wanst a knock off?

They are Crap quality knockoffs, its Not Just the Pipes, but the couplers and all including the filter, & They got no carb sticker.

The quality of pipes and welds on some products found on ebay are simply crap, and I wouldnt expect them to go the distance.

My ebay SRI has no burrs, the couplers are perfect, and the quality is all there. I have a K&N filter on it. Over 3 years, no problems with it at all.

Oh, I live in Florida, so no silly CARB sticker needed here. I would just take off the intake and put the stock one on for smogging anyway if we had it here.

I personally have never seen the intakes with burrs on them, but was tod they were the older ones that had them. But I have never seen pics posted of them.

I spent about $60 with filter for mine, and since there is only .00025548 hp increase, it does not really matter much to me.

Compare the ebay couplers with the Injen/AEM/K&N couplers there is a big diff in quality.

Not saying e-bays wont work, They are simply NOT the best.

and what is this "there is only .00025548 hp increase" you speak off?

BELEVE me there is more gains then .00025548 hp. Like said before it alone wont generate that much gains, BUT get a full exhaust line headers and all run her with the intake then go back to stock Intake and see the Diff in power and throttle responce.

The quality of the pipes and welds on my eBay CAI look as good as the injen CAIs that I have seen. The filter, well I would replace the injen filter anyway (dry filter FTW) so that doesn't give it any advantage. The couplers? I've seen the injen couplers, they aren't anything special. They have like a reinforced weave in them but this is an air intake we're talking about, not a pressurized air hose that needs reinforcement.

The injen would be worth it if the retail price was 100 dollars lower, but that won't happen because when you buy an injen product, you are buying their CARB certification. That is what makes other intakes cheaper. CARB certification means NOTHING outside of CA so I don't feel like paying for it.

If you have the cash go ahead, get the injen, you won't be sorry. If you are scrounging up some extra money and want an intake, do what is best for your money and don't pay for the CARB sticker.

I am currently experimenting with my intake system. As of yet, I have simply removed the plastic up to the filter box, my logic being that at least it will reduce the restrictions of the snorkel and all of the twists and turns in it. The sound, which I will admit to liking a great deal, is really only noticable in the lower gears with the accelerator stomped, but I still like it. Regarding power, I've not noticed a significant change either way. I'm waiting a few more days before I fill up my tank again to see if there has been an effect on fuel economy. The next part of my experiment is to try and locate some decent tubing and improvising a CAI, to see if there is noticable difference.

I removed the stock intake when my friend bought me a ebay CAI. Looks cool and has a similar design but has a wider opening.

Your fricken weird. Did you have too many passes of the peace pipe?

"Pickle" Thats a funny word........"Pickle"......lololololololololol

Headers replace the exhaust manifold and Cat 1. (as if you dont know  )

Please Tell, what is sooooo funny about how everyone says headers to discribe headers?

I dont think its funny when somebody calls a Window, a window. So im a little confused.

It's because we only have one bank of cylinders, so technically it is just a "header". .. some people are really anal about that sort of thing, doesn't really bug me though.

Sooooo Sooooooorrrrryyyyy Wait, no Im not. lololololol

People who are anal about those kinds of things online, are lifeless losers.

This is the net, you have to understand, everybody is not next door. Some people are in diferent places where English is not the first language The simple fact the post are understandable should be enough But Nooooo. Bombing on misspellings like they matter when they dont is a display of the tiny penis. this is a message board dont flatter yourselvs into thinking a misspelled word is a calling for a dumb comment, that you just cant resist.

It sounds a lot better, I get a couple more mpgs, and the car seems to accelerate a little better and smoother.

where did you pick that up and for how much if you don't me asking? I, too, have never seen that particular piece before. I like the smoothness of the stock intake but like most, would also a bit more zoom zoom.

I bought it on Ebay around November of 2004. They stopped selling them a little after that. I have only seen one other, it was someone on here selling a 99 back in Jan-Feb in the FS section.

This was the ebay seller I bought it from:
