the ones that say that theyre a timing advance kit is really just a resistor you can get at radio shack for 60 cents that makes your engine run a rich fuel air misture all the time, which is like running a small shot of nitrous all the time. some guy i know ordered one just for fun and it was only $2.99, he tried it on his car (civic), noticed a tad but more power, but it drank gas like a v8

The info you guys have is completely wrong. If you run rich you WILL have less power. If you lean out your motor you WILL have more power. Dumping in more fuel is like throwing water on a flame. You need the correct ratio of fuel and air to get the most power. And these cars already run rich, at least the MP3 does. Trust me, putting in more fuel will not give you more power unless you have lots more air like from a turbo or a shot of nitrous. And no, this mod is not like running a shot of nitrous. N2O is an oxidizer, meaning is is like putting lots more air into your motor, if you don't have the fuel to match, you will blow your motor or do lasting damage to it. This is why lots of people that are using nitrous are blowing up their motors. If you choose not to believe me, that's fine, but you will have a $2000 mechanic bill soon.

Kind of funny, .. I was reading through autospeed.com yesterday, and they happen to have this:

The two funny things about it, ...
1) This is an electric bilge pump for a boat, ...
2) autospeed.com was talking about using it to remove heat from the engine bay, ... not as a "supercharger".

That won't work either. Something similar to it could work though. If you use a compressor from a turbo or a centrifugal supercharger with a powerfull enough motor, it would work. But you would need to use two alternators though because of the power drain it would make. You would need a motor that spun at around 80,000 rpm for a centrifugal SC, but for a turbo housing, you would need a motor that spins over 100,000rpm. They are out ther but they are expensive, heavy, and use lots of electricity.
I tried that auction resistor and trust me IT DOES NOT WORK!! They say 7-12hp....bulls***! The only thing it made my car do faster is make the check engine light go on faster, and stay on! The funny thing is it only lit up when i put my intake in?? After the light went on i shut the car off, removed the resistor and **POOF** the light shut off. I figured its only 2.99 so its not a big deal. The bad thing about these auctions is you try to warn people but most of the auctions dont disclose who their bidders are...
