Yeah, i just installed the alteredcustoms fmic and i had multiple problems actually..
I work with engines and piping, metalwork and whatnot for a living and this job is no problem, or so i thought.
The fmic sits low after i put the bumper back on, i mounted it below the actual frame, has there been success of in front? how would you mount it otherwise?
Secondly, the [coupler] piping straight off the turbo is a reducing 90degr. to an enlarged 2 1/2"? well, this is harshly riding on the o2 sensor and i cannot reposition too much..
then, whats the real deal with that @$#%*&$@%&!#%$& MAF? i hate it. is it necessary? I thought the BOV was supposed to be on the cold side.. can i remove the maf and put the bov there? i could prolly make the piping around the o2 work better if the stupid 6" w/flange and bov wasnt there. I EVEN HAD TO REMOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE RADIATOR FAN! lol.. good thing its winter and ill hopefully be resolving this in the next 2 months.
and another thing! im getting a turkey. mad turkey. i have heard some say its a rush through the fmic because i hear it when im not even in the turbo (for sure! like 2000rpm) i have a greddy RS and have adjusted it thoroughly, currently i have it almost completely open, loose. At a higher gear in higher acceleration ill hear a swoosh, but its always accompanied by an echo... what you think? I have also replaced the vac lines from the bov, wastegate and to T'd to the intake.. Only thing is the intake 90degr. hasnt been changed and i am really skeptical about it now.. :X
OK this is getting long..
I also have an AEM Tru Boost and a little confused, is the only vac hose coming off the entire turbo from the wastegate actuator? I dont get that shiz, is our wastegate adjustable? Do i have to get a new one? how in the world do i see the boost and then be able to adjust it? Fill me in!
