Feeler Thread: Forge dual-piston BOV

question

before i got my forge bov, i was running my hardpipes with the stock bpv,
.....
so now i'm running my hardpipes with the forge bov and i'm wondering if i can trim the reducer coupler that holds the bov down so its sitting right up against my upper ic pipe, sort of like if it was welded onto it...
think that's a good idea?

I'm sure trimming the silicon hose would not cause any problems.

And as for the stalling mentioned on the last page, My car will drop down if I shift to neutral from high RPM's, but I have yet to stall.

Ok, here is the final setup... I found this to be what I'm looking for. I get a pretty sweet pssst sound from this with a bit of turkey, not much, but more like a helping of pssst with a side of gobble... he he. Anyway, I installed my Joe P FPR and put in some 100 octane and I'm running at 9 psi. Tonight I ran my buddy with his 03' SRT and he wooped my ass. He's running 17 psi and he's got a ton of work done. Anyway, he beat me by at least 5 cars once we reached 90 mph.

Back on topic. Forge BOV sounds great, it will drop your idle way down if you go to neutral from high rpm's. If you have your boost turned up the thing sounds awesome, thanks Forge...and thanks for the group buy. I'm a happy customer.

Okay so I finally got my BOV and installed it today.

I think I may need to try the brake booster line for vacuum instead of the one that was going to the stock BPV. For the most part it runs okay, but at idle my A/F gauge was reading about 16.1 instead of the normal 14.7.1 and the car would dip really low. Remember this isn't after hitting the clutch while boosting, this is while just sitting at idle.

Vacuum problems?

Like the picture earlier in this thread I have the full ION set-up. I bought a plug and plugged one hole with that and hooked the forge valve up to the other one just like the earlier picture.

Yes, it's available...I had it on my car for several months before switching to the BOV. It is basically a direct replacement for the stock BPV, made out of metal instead of plastic. My BPV leaked, which is why I wanted to replace it. There was a minor improvement over stock, but compared to the BOV, it's hardly even noticeable. The other thing to consider is that they are nearly the same price, so for like $30 more (I don't know the exact difference) you can have the BOV instead.
how could u tell that ur bpv was leaking ?
