Fatti03msp's Build Thread

so i have been running no filter for a few days now and i must say im loving it.

The sound is so nice and i def. noticed a nice difference in spool up too, but at the same time its stupid as hell to run like that.

I did a lil searching on the web but came up with nothing.

Im really looking for filter that is small enough to fit on the end of the turbo and i know there isnt much room to work with too. Tried one of those small spectre filters you can get at pepboys and it was too big. If they just made a cap with a filter on the end that would be perfect.

Any sites you guys know of that might have something like this?

I was thinking maybe one of those pre Filters might work, cause it will act as a filter and stop water from coming in. Just not sure if it can take the heat being that close to the turbo.

how about I just send you a little chunk of 2.5" tubing I have left over? nearly any filter and a 2.25" coupler (adapter is unnecessary to get to 2.5") will have you set. I may even have a piece with a little kink in it that would help get it away from the rad a bit.

I went a little longer... but this should give you an idea of what I'm talkin about.

that the route i was going to go if i couldnt find a filter that would fit, really wanted to have no piping at all though.

nice pic wagon lol

i got a k&n filter to fit directly on the turbo, ill find the link for you
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-1700

i think i got that one..not sure
but it fits directly on there and it doesnt really hit anything at all besides the bleeder screw for the slave cylinder, and it hits it just barely

nice, ill have to look and see if they have one just like that in a 3" inlet, got the GT28RS.

bah. I forgot the 28 was that big... 2.5" piping probably doesn't do you much good now does it.. LOL

and thanks! LOL

i knew what you ment though.

but just ordered this and a pre filter so i dont suck up that lovely FL rain.

thanks justanotherp5. got a 2.75" inlet one, should be able to squeeze that biotch on there lol.

ya, but your link still helped alot.

If this works out.... which it better cause that s*** wasnt cheap, then your sir are a motor saver lol. The idea of putting the Injen SRI back just makes me cringe lol. 2.5" intake tapering down to 2" is just fail

i never understood that taper... there have been a few people who hacked that section off and replaced it with a coupler.. seems like a lot of money to cut the s*** up though.

ya, thats y i have never done, i want to be able to resell it once i get my intake setup figured and i know if i cut it, there would be a good chance i would lose interest.

Lets hope this filter works, will see an injen sri on the market

Filter came in and cleaned out my compressor housing and had sen2two open up the GT28RS inlet. Turned out badass, cant wait to get it back on the car.

what it looked like when i first took it off the car

What it looks like after the Ktec compressor housing mod

Then a quick shot of the filter i just picked up.

next thing on the list to do to my turbo before it all gets put back together is to get the compressor housing and turbine housing ceramic coated. With the combo of that, new intake setup, Ktec turbo mani and the compressor housing mod..... Im hoping to have spool up like i used to have when i had the GT25 maybe even faster too

for those of you interested in the compressor housing mod here is the link to his thread, where you can post up questions and add your name to the list.

Well guys it finally happened. Sen2two is the 2nd coming. He does some damn good work. I'd love to see a before / after dyno!

dyno numbers are going to be hard to do. One we both are broke and my thunder mani was in such bad shape that a before and after just wouldnt have been accurate. We didnt want my car to show XX amount of gains going from my thunder to his stuff and then someone else buying his stuff and only getting XX amount.

Doing a before and after dyno would have been false advertising pretty much. Since i would not only be doing repairs but also adding better performing parts.

finally got the dam car running again, but only running 4psi. Think my dam wastegate went. Dam thing is like 2 years old if that.

Correct me if im wrong but the test you do to see if your wastegate is bad is you blow into the vac line and if you hear it leaking its bad.
