Fast E/T's

lol so spinning your tires makes your car go faster? lol ummmm........ For you to get so much traction at the launch to get a 13.6 and then only get upto 89mph is pretty bogus, you would be well over 100 atleast.. (gtfo)

I did have faster mph on radials SPINNING than on slicks, but it only varied by 1.-2 mph. WHY well when you dig the car uses alot of HP to get it going. Your time dropd but the speed will decrease a bit. this isn't the first time i've seen this happen, but it sure as hell don;t drop 11 mph

you got it. i don't race where there's traffic though. only on straight back roads that you can see down for miles. i wanna run it at the track but i don't even know how to launch. that, and its kind of expensive.

track cant be mroe than 20 bucks

actually, the closest one is buttonwillow and its like 110 for a dyno run and a couple runs on the track. not sure if its a quarter mile track or not... famosa is like 40 bucks i think but its over an hour away. buttonwillow is where mazfest is taking place as well.

Went to the track for the first time in the Speed 3 Friday night. I have never launched the car, street or strip...I do know how to drive a fair bit though. ;)

First pass 14.0 @101. Second pass 13.9 @101.

I know that I can get my car to a 13.7 but need some runs to find the best place to launch for a 2.1 60ft. Mazdaspeed 3 GT with complete interior with no changes made to tire pressure. Mazdaspeed CAI is the only mod on the car.

THE SLIP.. :D Ignore the awful RT, it was on a pro tree and I was paying more attention to the tach than anything else. Right lane was an RX-8 that spun something awful out of the hole and then missed a shift or two.

edit: forgot to mention this was done without power shifting.

Wow you could probably hit a 13.3 if youd just pay attention to the tree! nice numbers!

I think that slip finally throws the BS flag up on those two dummies claiming 13.6 and 13.8 at 89MPH...yet HAVE NO SLIPS!!! I mean hes at 13.95 and already at 101

Thanks!

Nah...reaction time has no affect on elapsed time. ET starts the moment your tire leaves the second light beam.

Here is a tip for you guys. Given equal launches, shifts, etc. The deeper staged you are (closer to the second beam) the worse your ET will be but your RT will be better if you don't red light. Now if you stage extremely shallow...where the second beam of light flickers on the tree, your ET will be slightly faster.

Talk about a crappy run for the guy next to you. Decent run for you. I find pro-tree's the most fun when I'm doing heads up racing. You even think you see yellow your gone, lol

(uhm)
i was wondering why are your tech numbers and other things whited out?

wow so this thread went to crap somewhere around pg4. How about we post slips w/ times? I know that's not fool proof either but it's alot less likely for someone to hunt down a fake TS and post it than for someone to just lie about ET/Trap. Lets get back to drag racing fellas mmmm-kaaaayy??

I'm so used to launching a T3/T4 turbo Quattro a4 that I'll be lucky to get a 15 flat out of my car my first time at the track. I haven't owned a FWD car in at least 5 years!!!

I'm pretty impressed w/ the stock times and traps though. I'd like to see a more organized format for posting ET's. Something like mods/timeslip/weight/car details (like sport vs GT). maybe we can even make a database like this:

this is for B6 A4's (Mine is a B5 but you get the point)

http://www.mjbmotorsport.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/b6a4dragtimedatabase.htm

I agree with jedi,
We should have a sticky for MS3 1/8 and 1/4 times, modifications, and any other necessary info

something like this...

Name | State | Year | 60ft | ET | MPH | Mods
SSMS3 (OH) 03 1.945, 13.148 @ 104.46, A

We can assign letters to specific mods to keep the lists shorter

A = shifter
B = CAI
C = aftermarket TMIC
D = FMIC
etc, etc
