Fan not working

Has anyone had the problem with there enterior fan not working? My wiring harness that plugs into the fan controls under my radio melted!!!!! I put a 800w amp and Kicker 12" sub and ran it off the factory amp wire. Could this have done this do you think???????????

Ummm, if the wiring harness connected to the controls that turn the fan on melted I would assume that is the reason...

Im not following here... You used the exisiting wiring in the trunk to hook up your stereo and your A/C harness has melted?

Wait you used the "amp turn-on wire" to actually power a sub amp? yikes yeah that wiring isn't made to handle any load whatsoever.

edit: oh ok, forgot the msp had the amp wiring to the trunk.

Yeah that would do it though. It isn't made to handle much more than what the kenwood amp used.

I don't know that the amp is culprit but I would certainly rewire this correctly.

As far as fixing the problem is concerned I would find a junkyard and get the harness from them. Any 3rd gen should work, just be sure to solder it back in.
