I'm new here, I have tried to install the software upgrade for my daughter's car. It is a CX-5 2017 GT. Years ago, I had the need and only installed the upgrade to 70.X version but did not progress with the cables and Hub replacement. Now that my daughter inherited the car, she's been asking me for this. I don't want to pay Mazda $550 for the job so I decided to do it myself.
I went ahead and got the parts (although not the originals) and perform to the hardware installation (cables and Hub) without further software upgrade (version 70.X, which is supposed to work). Did not get Carplay to work. Then I went ahead and upgraded the software to the latest 74.000.324 NA N. Still no carplay. I can see the two options Apple Carplay and Android Auto greyed out under settings/devices. Which they were not before.
I went ahead and got another Cable/Hub kit and replaced it with the hope it was a hardware issue. Still nothing. I have run out of ideas. Last would be to purchase original parts but afraid that won't do change anything.
Was wondering if you seen this before or have any ideas?
