Fahrvergnugen 2.0 - VW's new ad campaign

-AutoBlog

Volkswagen's new American ad campaign is reviving the faux-German that gave us its unique (and unpronounceable) 'Fahrvergnugen' slogan.

The first TV commercials for the new campaign are already out - the GTI commercials urging drivers to "Make friends with your fast."

Next up is a print ad campaign that emphasizes the brand's German heritage. Not only will we get fractured German phrases like "Straight outta da Autobahn," "Fast as schnell," and "Unpimp Mein Auto," but we also get a hot spokesmodel! Yes, in a move that must have been inspired by that B-movie classic, "Helga, the she-wolf of the SS," the ad agency has created VW's very own Helga, a leggy blonde in a skintight dress with white go-go boots and a German accent. (What, no whip?) Ja, vee haf vays of making you buy zis car...

(boom07) Germans never cease to surprise me, lol. I like their phrases tho, fast as schnell, rofl.

Where is Helga? This is all I care about.
If she's anything like the german chick in Super Troopers that's all I need. (yes)

i went and test drove one of these yesterday and all I can say is I WANT ONE DAMN IT! that car is a little freaking beast and does not loose any power through the shifts and there is 0 to little turbo lag. Watch out EVO, STI and SRT-4 this car is going to be kicking some ass. With all that said any one want to buy my speed so I can get one of these.

I'm pretty trusting of Car and Driver's opinions and they rated this comfortable over the new Civic Si. Too many things about VW piss me off ergonomically, but I bet it's a pretty fantastic car. I still like my clutch pedal though. And the things is a bit heavy and really not that cheap. But I bet it's nice. I'd just get a used Audi if I was going to spend that much though....

Its not that badly Priced! starts at 21,900 for the base model but at same time you are getting 200HP and 207Lbs. of tourqe right out of the box. thats much better value than what you would pay for an EVO or STI and Im sure little is needed to get it to say 250 I'm sure just and exhust, CAI and FMIC with a little uped boost would put it up there. As far as for the clutch pedal the car comes with two diffrent options a tiptronic transmission or a 6speed manual transmission.

Hell, just a chip upgrade will boost some serious gains. I wonder what PSI they are running.

I asked the sales guy that yesterday but you know how those retards are they dont know s*** about the cars they are selling. He couldnt even answer for me if it was intercooled or not. I am guessing it is top mount intercooled sort of like how the mazdaspeed 6 is. I couldnt really get a good look at the engine because if this stupid ass plactic engine cover they come with. Who ever thought up the idea of putting plastic covers all over the top of the engine is a retard.

I like the myfast campain, i think its funny, and pretty true, lol.

I haven't driven one, but i would rock one of the GTI MkV's, they look pretty nice IMO.

Go test drive one of those GTI MKV's and let see if you still feel that way.

you don't read properly....vw is an asshole company.
just to name a few of their sins:
- serious quality problems from the beginning of the 90s..cars got cheaper but prices got higher...quality became better again at the late 90s..
- vw models were always "selfsellers", dealers never had to make any efforts to sell the cars (stupid patriot customers) and treated the customers like donkeys...
- in early 2000s parts of production were transfered to cheap ass countries like poland or czechia. quality went down again a little and prices went higher again...
- vw ripped of german customers -for more than a decade- by selling their models within germany for quite a lot more money than in other european countries.
- vw tried to rip of german customers (like 2y ago i think?) by not giving them not nearly the same warranty rights as the customers in all other euro countries...
- just last year there was some big scandal again, dealing with some stupid dummy firms somewhere on the globe, severe corruption among managers and the workers' council...

= vw is a gigantic turd
now you go testdrive a nice golf 5 gti but don't be too sure it is "pre-tuned" in germany...
