Exhaust sound (loudness) questions?

Get a carsound one its the same thing as magnaflow for half the price, actually same company I think...

I went ot one shop a while back asking waht to run on my Corksport (when i got it). The guy basically said i would cook a Magnaflow within a year due to the heat from a turbo car.
He recommended Random Technology, but the cost was $300 CDN. My comparison, the Magnaflow is $130 CDN.
He told me to run away from Catco alltogether.
What cat's are Apex, Ion, ES using on their midpipes with cats?

(thumb) In my personal experience the main contributor to loud exhaust note is pipe size. Is your piping 2.5" or 3". I'll argue with anyone that 2.5" pipe is more than sufficient for the power you will ever extract from our engines. Also, a cat will create more back pressure than 5 resonators. On my last car, a 2002 supercharged Z24, I started with 3" pipe, no cats, no resonators. I ended up being more satisfied with 2.5" pipe, and 3 yes 3 resonators to get that annoying "RICER" sound down to where I could tolerate it! The loss of WHP from a 3" with no resonator to a 2.5" with 3 resonators, was a whopping 1.7 WHP! But....I gained 2.3 pounds of wheel torque with the added back pressure, so I considered my self better off. (thumb)
Thank you. I've been saying that, in most applications, a 3" is too big for our motors. A 2.5" should scavenge better. I'm still refining my engine theory knowledge to apply to turbo cars though, and scavenging may not be as important on a boosted motor.
Regardless, I'm glad for the discussion about the noise, since the exhaust is my first area of attention (and a better IC is a close second...ours sucks!)
