Exhaust questions.

Looking to get an exhaust for my '03 P5. I don't want to have the angry bumble bee sound, although it's tough to stay away from that with a 4cyl.
Anyone have ideas?

Cat Back? Axle Back? Best brands?

TONS of threads in the P5 section for exhausts. Best to do a search, as it has been discussed.

lots of cheap ones drone (annoying freeway sound that hurts your head). Good ones don't.

Racing Beat cat-back is the best IMO. finished tip, nice sound, and street legal. Just do not be confused with the mazdasport or mazdaspeed racing beat exhaust, 2 different exhausts.

here is a video of my racing beat cat-back. I had a leak at a gasket, so the popping you hear in the video is gone. Oh, I also have a header, so it is actually louder than of without.

But yeah. Seach for exhausts and there are ton.

If you do want a racing beat, I know a company that has them for $403 shipped. Let me know.

wow this topic must come up at least in a new thread every week.. yeah i agree racing beat catback is the best sounding, not too loud, no droning cat back exhaust system.

And the sedan version will fit the P5 if you cut the tip off shorten the pipe between the tip and the muffler and reweld it? Or am I confused about that?

I have a MagnaFlow Catback it sounds really good and I am hoping to get better sound out of it when put the OBX header on it. It have alot better throttle response now and it sounds great and the interior resonance is close to the stock sound. Now that I have heard my exhaust and then I hear them ricer exhausts and I laugh. I have never heard a four cylinder sound as good as the MP5. Doesn't matter what exhaust, it all sounds good. if you would like to hear my magnaflow catbacks go to my car domain link in my sig. its at the bottom of the page. not much on my site still working on it. But that is the exhaust with the stock exhaust manifold on it. soon I will post a new vid with the header on so peeps can hear the difference. all around a good cat back system is a must if you are fixing up your car. It really helps if you have a c.a.i. or a short ram intake. my car bogged bad with the short ram intake and stock exhaust. Good luck huntin'! By the way I bought my catbacks at www.summitracing.com probably the cheapest place. but I did pick them up locally to so I didnt pay shipping. laterz...
