Exhaust Ideas

Hi all, i bought a 2004 Mazda3 s last month and i just got an injen cai for it, but now i want to do my exhaust. I need some help with an idea, I am going to get it done locally at a shop with mandrel bent stainless 2.5'' piping.

Here is the tricky part. I want it to be quieter than most cat backs, just a small deep growl over factory.

Anyone know of a good high flow muffler that absorbs sound really good? I am also going to be putting a resonator on it.

Any help is appreciated.

Is the 5door exhaust interchangable with the sedan? (same routing and fit)

i put the magnaflow 2.5" on my car. The sedan and hatch are almost the same fit, they do have to do some cutting, i can't remember which is longer but i think the sedan is longer.

i recommend the magnaflow its not overly loud but it's definitely louder

i would check for some sound clips but i remember the borla wasn't overly loud or the racing beat. could have been the ID of the exhuast though as the draxas was 2.5" and it was a bit louder... if you are not changing out the stock cats its really not going to get that much louder with a decent muffler just food for thought

well the 1st cat is staying on until i get time to put my header on.

what about the second cat? are you removing that with the exhuast or not?
