just wondering if anybody could help me figure out what is wrong. i very lightly bottomed out my intercooler pipe and my car died. then it started and drove until i gave it a little bit more gas and it sputtered out almost dying but i kept it going for abt a mile and it died again. then i got it started enough to cross the street and call a towtruck. my maf is on the boosted side and is on the pipe that hit, so could i have broke that? will that cause my issues? to me it seems like a fuel issue since once i gave it more gas it started to die.
anyhelp is appreciated

Sounds like a good old air leak, You may have ripped off a hose or cut into the intercooler pipe.

possible but, my maf is after all of that, i blew my pipe that comes off the turbo to the intercooler and still was able to drive it for a few miles to where i could fix it, i think if i broke a tube it would still drive just not that good!
it turns over but will not start at all now.........
when i did get it started it idled fine but as soon as i went to move it it sputtered down and died

it's at the shop now, i am 3 hrs away from home and had nowhere to work on it so i had to get it towed to a local shop

My guess is then that the pipe got crammed back and lossened or popped the connection tube n the MAF. I'd check and redo all of the intake tubes to be sure. Even at the TB.

sounds to me like a pipe is not connected (shrug) just check ALL connections. but other than that I dont know... -mike

well on the side of the road i checked and everything was tight, all the pipes were connected and nothing was loose so i have no ******* clue, guess the expensive ass body shop will have to figure it out!!

for what it's worth:

When that kit was on my car, the MAF was just after the air filter - not inline with boost.

Couldn't hurt to fire off an email to mp23cc@aol.com - that's MPNick's email.

well the kit was totally redone now with a bov so i want the maf after that......

well where i am at is closing the computers now...... if you have any ideas please suggest them and i will check in the morning, i dont think the shop has any idea with a turbo charged car but it was the only place somewhat close. only had 100 for towing!!
thanks and wish me luck

Same thing happened in my turboed bp, the tranny put in a new clutch, and then called me saying that it wont stay running. Tokk a while, but we found that a coupler came off a pipe. Check them, I bet thats what it is. My car would run for a little, then die. Oh, and check your spark plugs because mine got rediculously black while iwas trying to start it with a charge pipe unhooked. Good luck.

thanks but all my couplers are visable and i checked every one on the side of the road, they were all tight and securly connected. the tech is supposed to call me in an hr to let me know what he found.

allright well the tech called and he said my car started but was only getting 30 psi of fuel pressure and stock is 39-45 so either the fuel pump is bad or the filter is bad. now i have a quick question.... is the walboro 255 an external pump that works along side of the stock pump or does it replace the stock pump? if it works along with it then i will just have them replace it and buy the walboro next week with the injectors and fuel rail so i dont put so much strain on the stock one but if it replaces it i will just get the walboro now !!! so quick help is appreciated
thanks
rob

Internal pump! The pierburg is an external pump like what you are talking about. BEGI used that one with thier kits.

thanks, ya i just had them order the stock one since i need my car friday night. next month i will throw the walboro in so i dont kill my stock one again
