Engine won't start when hot

Four days ago my 1996 Protege developed a problem with starting when the engine is hot. The engine starts fine when cold and runs with no problems. When I turn the key to restart when the engine is hot, there is no response at all. I took it to a Mazda dealer who ran diagnostics and changed the plugs and wire set and cleaned the intake and fuel injection system. I drove it home (20 minutes driving time) and tried to restart and had the same problem as before. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

check for spark when it is "hot", looking for coil failure. (coil is inside the distributor I think.)

or it might be faulty temperture sensor sending wrong signals to ECM
