Engine Vibration

Do you guys feel the engine vibration on your seat while on idle? I remember when I first bought it 5 months ago I was suprised that I could understand whether the car was running or not.

Not, at 5.500km I feel the engine vibration while seated, not shaking , you can't see it it on the steering while or on anything hanging, but you certainly feel it..

Not on my CX7. I often need to look at the tachometer to see if it is running.

mine is pretty smooth as well...i mean when i hit the gas it does have that 4 cyl buzzy sound and a little of the feel, but's pretty subdued and quiet.Does it only vibrate while under a load..example(a/c on)?

Idling..

No...the A/C is not on when I feel the car rough idling..
When I mean "rough" I mean I feel the car ticking..not shaking or trembling, but when I first got it it was so robust that I had 1/2 times re-ignited while on...

Any ideas? Could it be motor mount? (at 5.500km??) EGR valve? misfires? what?

Do your exhausts vibrate ? Noticably?

i will look at the exhaust while its on next time. i heard people talking of soot building up on them, but have not noticed any...and i mean none on mine since i purchased it. i did use a cleaner on it when it was new if that is helping ...i dont know. i will check the vibration when i leave work today

You might need to run it abit. I mean take it out and let the AT shift at 5,000 + RPM a few times (1-5th gear if you can find the space) and give it a 70 + mph run for 20 miles.

May I know what cleaner you used? I've got A LOT OF soot built up, and I need to clean up the inside of my tailpipes every month. The other day I asked the service manager about this, he simply told me that every turbo does this.

Flywheel?

Dealer told me that they will replace the flywheel, because it seems to have above tolerance slack. Car is new, 6.500km, if it was the flywheel, wouldnt the vibration be with a specific frequency, and not random?

Ticking could be the cooling fan kicking on...rough feel could be a broken engine mount...

Difficult to believe a flywheel will vibrate at random times as stated. I suppose a torque converter may have a vibration problem but, then one would expect vibration peaking at a specific frequency. Did you give it a good long runs as suggested to clean it out?

I did this a month and so ago, I run it at 140km @ 4.000rpm for 10 min but no change.I also used premium gas only for the last 2.000km but no change either..

What kind of issue could a "above tolerance slack" on the flywheel cause?
These are dual-mass flywheels..

Could it cause vibration on the manual shifter ONLY AT 1ST gear , while accelerating?
