engine paint

im trying to find a company that will color match my laser blue mica for some engine paint to paint my valve covers...any tps or suggestions?

talk to your local body shop and have them put it in a spray can for you.

you can't just use your regular spray paint to paint a valve cover. regular paint wasn't meant to be used under high heat!!!! try to get high temp paint as close in color as you can. Try FLAPS, maybe they can order something for you if they don't have it in stock.

go to www.paintscratch.com, and order a spray can of "starry blue mica" code-24a, it matches, then paint the cover...then use HIGH HEAT clearcoat. thats what i did and i have no complaints

so the starry blue is actually not high temp? where did you get the clear coat high temp, i went to wal mart and of course they dont have any...how close of a match is it

Duplicolor has some new anodized paint that will do for 500 degrees...they have a blue that matches the lazer blue almost excataly. I just did my valve cover, heat sheild, and intake pipes with the red and it looks good if you do the prep work right.

ps - what the clear cost ya? 30 bucks for a can of paint is a bit high but i guess its worth it for the looks

any of you guys paint your actual valve cover? not just the plastic MP3 cover..I really want to paint mine..but I just can't get all that s*** off of it..I.E. plugs and etc..any suggestions?

you could still do this setup...just use more clear i guess, the clear i use is high heat 500 degree paint, and its like 3 bucks a can.

torque specs for the bolts on the valve cover, but you prolly dont have them because you painted the mp3 cover...nevermind tho, looks sweet im gonna do it also

nah, i dont have the torque specs, but equinox should...uhm, yeah, paint yours too, i'm glad i could help man, thats why im here. i also painted my grill, and taillights, let me know if you wanna see them too.

id like to see the tailights if you dont mind...im thinking im going to do that how-to paint your headlights only instead of black im going to use the blue mica...what did you do, buy clear tails and paint them?
