Engine mount question

:
2003.5 MAZDASPEED
I have seen somewhere about people changing the engine mounts to the AT mounts for either the rear, or the rear&front. I have also heard about people filling in the engine mount with high temp silicone.

Has anyone ever filled in the engine mount? If so how did you go about doing it?

The reason I want to know is, I get bad wheel hop goin off the line if I try to get some power down. So as a temp fix, I would try to fill in the mount.. If someone would be so kind as to tell me how they did it.. tips/cautions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx guys.

tick tick tick tick crack!!!! grind!!!111!!!1! this is in your near future your lsd will break because you have wheel hopped, leave your car stock wait for it to break get it warrantied and put in some awr 98 durometer mounts, stiffest thing money can but for proteges

get front and rear motor mounts....i have the front only right now and it reduced wheel hop by about 50%, i am going to get the rear soon.

does having only the front create more vibration in the rest of the car? i've sat in a car with both front and rear mounts and it vibrated alot. it felt solid though...

you say that since he wheel hopped once its going to break. yea i dont think that is right cause i have wheel hopped more than once and i am fine. and also the new LSD's that mazda is replacing the stock msp lsds with suck. so you might want to get mounts now.

i believe there is a how-to on filling the motor mounts. personally though, i'd spend the $75 and get at least the front one. i have the front AT mount and it cut down on the wheel hop a lot without the car shaking like crazy.

all im saying is that even if its fine now there might be microfractures in the welds on the lsd, ever notice that the only cars that dont break lsd's are ones that arent raced or driven hard, before mine broke i only wheel hopped mabey 2 times then driving down the road on the way to work(a mazda dealer) the lsd snapped, and there is really very little difference between the replacement lsd and the stock one other than a little more wheel spin in high speed cornering, if ya wanna fix that buy the phantom grip and get the lsd welded
