I dont want this to turn into a flame thread or anything..but i was just wondering out of curiosity, can you actually blow your engine if you still have the OEM fuel cut? I mean...by reading this forum i though i would hit fuel cut at 10 psi...i hit it at like 13psi actually, and so does my friends msp. maybe its b/c its so hot and muggy here....in any case i only boost 10psi, so i was just curious

I heard you'll only hit fuel cut at 10psi on a cold day... but I don't think it will blow your engine since it is there to prevent you from blowing your engine

You can DEFINATELY blow your engine before hitting fuel cut. Fuel cut is there to help avoid a situation where you might blow your engine, but its not able to detect detonation in your engine and that's the killer. So be real careful jacking up the boost, because you can pop that sucka!

I thought these motors were indestructable and never had parts fail?????? I better stop driving mine, it may blow up!!

hehe one thing i have found out lately is the msp is a lot stronger that i thought i was..i was with a guy the other day boosting 15psi! all the time! for 5 weeks! iwas like damn..and all i had dont to it was gutted cats (no)

I've run around 100 passes in the mid-lower 13's, and another 100-130 in the 14's-15's. Only had the lsd break so far.......knock on wood.

Mazda has replaced so many rods that have bent into a half moon that they can't count. People running stock boost. Believe me it takes nothing to distroy our jiffy pop motor. First you bend the rod in cyclinder 4 then it takes nothing to punch five or so holes in the motor. All the people talking about fifteen pounds of boost will soon eat their words, I promise you this because I was one of them, even with a dyno tuned motor and fuel mods it will happen. I have waited 14 plus weeks for new rods and pistons and have spent at least $6000.00 to rebuild my car. Spend $1200.00 and buy pistons and rods, it is much cheaper. Run stock boost until you repair Mazda's bad rods.
