Endlinks Of Doom

I've done about 4 installs and this has worked everytime without a problem. allen wrench and a wrench. Came right off.

Did anyone try a 6 point open end wrench on the nut & hold the center of the bolt by putting an allen wrench in the end of it? All 4 came right off without problem.....

Yes, but it looks like you live in Arizona. In the northern sates (I'm in Michigan) we have the problem of winter and salt on the roads. If you drive a car here for even 1 winter, there is no way you will be able to get the endlinks off with just a wrench and allen. They just corrode way too much.

I'm wondering if it'd be easier if you had an allen socket. Put that beast on your breaker bar, jam the wrench in there, and go to town.

That being said, I have no intentions on finding out any time soon.

Tried that. The problem is the female allen "pocket" or whatever you call it, is just too small. You can't get enough torque without stripping it, to break loose the nuts when they get corroded.

Yeah Mazda dropped the ball when they used those POS endlinks. When I went to have my MSP springs and Tokico blues put on, they guy at the shop told me before they even started that he hated working on Protege's 'cause of those stupid endlinks.

lol i love my p5 endlinks they go "clink" over everybump lol about a yr ago i installed the springs and it was my first time and the fuckers woodnt come off so i broke the plastic part and said **** it well i still havnt goten new ones or broke the old ones of but u dont need the fuckers anyway lol...There is a way to do the springs without taken em off to and i now know how to do it.

Yea I replaced my springs without taking off the endlinks too, lol. Next time I have to mess with them, I'm getting AWR endlinks for the front. I could careless about the performance aspect, I just don't want to go nuts trying to take them off everytime :D

No winter road salt, not living at beach, don't drive in salt water when there, no problems................except their crappy design to begin with.

Yeah, what he said! Just look at who did and did not have problems. AZ and TX had no prob

All I can say is PB Blaster and an impact is my friend. SOAK the bolts with the PB for a whole day! Don't rush to remove them. I made that mistake with one and I had to grind off and replace. I would NOT tackle these without the impact. My other 3 came off like butter.
