Emergency Brake light comes on? - when not used...

Recently my emergency brake light has been coming on. It doesn't stay on the entire time I'm driving, but frequently. Note* My emergency brake is not engaged. Has anyone encountered this problem?

make sure the E-brake is all the way down. Mine will pull up into the first click without engaging, but, the light comes on. That's the problem with mine, but, if that isn't it, what they said

Check to make sure that the wire to the sensor on the emergency brake is properly attached. If it became a little unscrewed it would cause the dash light to come on.

check your brake pads, when mine started doing that is was because my pads were nearly gone!
