Hey People, how we doing? My birthday is coming up (11/14) and for sometime now, I have been wanting aftermarket springs for my MSP. My question to you all is whether I should go for the Eibach Pro-Kit or Teins Springs? I want my car to handle the way is does now and want the lowered look. Any suggestions for me? Any comments? Let me know what you all think and if anyone has the springs mentioned above, let me know what you think of them. :) Thanks so much for your help!

Kevin

Although I have not installed my Eibachs yet I bought them becuase I have heared nothing but good thing about them. Infact I dont think I have come across a single complaint about it.

my birthday is coming up in a week or so too and i've been thinking of getting myself a set of lowering springs too......

im kinda leaning towards the H&Rs tho... less drop than the Eibachs coz i have a DG lip and it might be too low..

as you can see in my sig, I have a the racing beats. they give a nice, conservative drop to the car and greatly improve handling.

which RB ones do you have? the OEM ones that came in the MP3 or the 1.5" drop ones?

whatever you do, don't get teins if you want to preserve your handling. apexistud got teins and said that compared to the stock springs, they were way softer. it handled less well, but offered a nicer drop.

eibachs drop 1.4" in the front and 1.8" in the back. the racing beat springs drop about 1" all around. the H&r's drop 1.3" front and 1.4" back.

h&r springs are stiffer than eibachs. both are comperable to the racing beat springs. can't go wrong with either one. plus you'll drop your speed just a little bit more.

tonkabui, are those figures for the mazdaspeed, p5, or regular sedan? I've been getting conflicting reports, even from the manufacturers.

regular. the speed is already dropped about an inch on racing beat springs. you know, those pretty red things.

just a reminder... the speed's handling (suspension) components are pretty much tweaked out already. you're running giant swaybars front and rear, strut tower bar, racing beat springs and tokico blues struts. getting springs will not increase your handling dramatically. the racing beat springs are already tuned for max handling. the only benefit getting eibachs or h&r springs is for a lowered look. you might notice a little flatter cornering feel since your center of gravity decreased by about half an inch, but other than that, don't expect these springs to do magical and wonderous things. the car already does that out of the box.

they're all relabeled eibachs, i believe. the speed's suspension is still tuned by racing beat.

the speeds are actually dropped by MAZDASPEED springs..

the MP3s are dropped by RB springs...

yeh i guess theyre rebadged...

H&Rs - 1.3" F&R
Eibach Pro-Kit - 1.4" F 1.8" R

how much height diff really is btw these two kits?.....

i have a DG lip so i dont want to have to drive like my grandma...

im just leaning towards the H&Rs coz they dont give as much of a drop..

from what i have seen on the boards, those people with p5's who lower with h&r springs get the almost tucked look in back. the eibachs with a 1.2" rear drop still has about two fingers width worth of space. i know for sure it's more than a 0.1" difference. so i don't know... just get h&r's... if they don't offer you the look you desire, sell them on here for a $10 loss after you install it. then get eibachs... if it's still not what you want, then, well... stay stock and lose another $10. (this is all assuming you are installing them yourself.) the only way to know if something works for you or not is to try it. mackdaddy is my hero cause of that.

good info. guys. i am really not dropping the car for performance gains. i do realize that this car (MSP) is a great one right out of the box. performance and handling wise. my main goal for getting the springs would be for looks. i think the car would look sick lowered. i think for now, i am leaning towards the Eibach kit, just b/c it has gotten such great reviews from owners that have the kit.

eibachs! luv em!
