Since when has the msp ever been a good platform? Throw in a better diff, a way to tune it, and rods that won't break on 6 psi. And sure it's good. I don't own an msp and I refuse to toss thousands into a protege.

you guys gotta understand, this car was never designed or priced to compete with evos/stis. Having bought the car new and pwning all my friends who also were getting into bolt on import/sport compact cars at the time, with the exception of srt4s, the rest (wrx/rsx/svt focus/civic si) were all no match for the stock block/turbo btw just bolt ons builds, but the msp was always quickest.) I cant say I expected much more for what i paid. sure if you dump thousands into any car you can go fast, but in a battle of the bolt ons msp ftw

too many people think this car was designed to be a 10 second car stock. i mean you pay for what ya get. dont expect a car that was half the price of a sti new to have a bullet proof drivetrain.

and if you break a rod on 6psi your a ******* idiot OR the person who owned the car before you beat the s*** out of it, had the time of their life and then when it was time to sell told you that they babied it lol

too many people bought these cars for cheap already half broken from some other idiot, didnt know what they were doing and complained that they cant run 3000000hp on a stock fsde rod. I mean I like complaining that we didnt get a built motor from factory too(especially when I was going through FS motors), but at the same time you pay for what you get and i always try to keep that in mind. if the msp had a built motor stock and was 5gs more expensive nobody would ever have bought one in the first place.

my favorite old msp vid ever was the blue msp running 12psi in 5th gear on a flashed ecu...stock motor...pop corn sounds then boom. wonder who got his car when he was done

I wonder how many people didnt even know their cars were flashed and tried to run 10+psi on the stock ecu...some i bet even with 91 octane

the car is capable of 13s on the stock drivetrain. what else do you want from a car priced similarly to a msp? 12s? go buy a built motor and keep a spare trans in your garage, or if you are on a budget maybe a 1.8BP build like I did, or a KLZE build even etc. theres are lots of options.

sure the stock ecu isnt that good and the sway bar design sucks, but have you ever heard of easier problems to correct? I mean if people cant hook up a afc and install some relocation brackets maybe they shouldnt be modding up their cars in the first place.

we commend you for trying something different, but OP's exhaust sucks, and we are all here to give him advice on how he can do a good job with it and we are all eagerly awaiting the results.

but but but...i want the whistle sound...
lol

i see your point and i coulnd't agree more.

I took a nap yesterday and figured out the clearence and oil line issues. The small bolt hole area where the old j pipe kept the down pipe from sitting flatt. once that was fixed then the oil line kept it from being flatt. so I took the oil line return fitting off. Bolted down the mani and there you go no leak. I would like to thank the mann for reminding me to deck the mani.I spent 2.5 hrs a on a 80gritt belt sander decking the mani. All bueno. I almost cried when When i heard no leak its been about a year and 1/2 that i heard a small chearp at startup. Project on again lol

you decked the mani yourself? nice.

so post pics of your oil return line again

r u tapping the oil pan or using the MSP's stock oil return line?

this was holding the mani up ground pretty much flat.

pipe installed and calling it day...whooooo ya buddy!!!!!

nice!
see?
enough complaining form us and you did it right,

to think that the MSP s-pipe has a fucke dup curve as well...

the "j-pipe" would probably flow better than that other atrocity

was this done by the same shop, though?

this pic is of the down pipe. You will be able to see that it had such an angle that the guy could not get a good bend with out major pinching. I will be ordering a low profile u bend so home boy could get a second chance at it.

really???

YES!!
the oil line was the hardest part to figure out. you have to grind the side flat a bit then press the bung oval. Best way to figure out is to torque to mani down with the fitting out then munipulate fitting till it fits.

its just tight i saw the angle that i needed to grind off to clear and i did. that thing is solid if you look at it..
