ebay intake problem

i do have that....its got a little rubber washer around the hole...the purge valve was my only problem i think, i did the ecu reprogram, no mroe throttle sticking, i just need to tweak its position a little tomorrow

i wonder if it matters where you position the filter, i put mine a little lower than all of you guys'...the injen CAI had it low down there, so i bent it downward alot

thats why u shoulda bought a brand name intake

I have to agree with this. I paid a bit for my AEM but it fit perfectly, including a little attached bracket for the purge solenoid and welded on mounts, not that erector set stuff. Plus if you have to buy another filter that negates the savings a bit. In general I think it's better to wait a little and save up to buy good parts.

Mine fits like a champ, and the filter's washable with the K&N recharge kit. Did I mention it was 40 bucks shipped? ;)

$40 shipped....   ...maybe i should get one...

Perhaps...though the solution I did for the purge solenoid seems to work pretty nice (snipped an inch off the tube). A K&N filter will run me a total of $30 or so....since my initial purchase was $30 that's $60 total. Still pretty cheap, with a good filter.

The only question I have is the filter...can I use the recharge kit on it (seems a slightly different material). No one with an Ebay intake has seemed to purchase a K&N filter....or if they have they don't remember what they bought.

You can use any filter setup you want on the intake so long as it fits of course. Not going to matter a single bit as far as the car is concerned, some just breath better than others or trap particles better etc.

Right....just curious which one people have bought because the only way I can purchase is online (all local K&N retailers only have "drop-in" filters and are no help). Want to make sure I buy the best filter I can get for my intake.

I am sure you got the problem fixed but the reason your throttle got stuck open (I would say) is because thay little piece that you didnt hook back up originally is hanging right above your throttle body linkage. it probably got jambed in their when you test drove it.

just a thought.

yea, i was also wondering what the model number is for a K&N cone that will fit on the ebay intake. anyone?

also, i havent had any problems with mine.

my ebay intake SUCKED, it farted every time i tramped on the accelerator...injen it was.
