ebay crossed drilled slotted rotors

wont the zinc plating on the rotors cause rust because of oxidation and the brake dust

No, The zinc plating will stay on the hub and inner veins of the rotors. Rotors are made to rust, there is nothing out there that is going to hold up to it for a long period of time. One thing good about the zinc is that it stays in the slots and holes of the rotors. Basically any untouced part of the rotors will stay zinced. Also, the weather will play a big part of how long the protection will hold up.

wont the zinc plating on the rotors cause rust because of oxidation and the brake dust. these were some other rotors i was looking at. obviously they are going to try to make theirs sound better but:

Zinc Plating: The reason our competitors use zinc plating is because it is cheap. Zinc is not designed for exterior use. Rotor is dipped into metal solution to coat it. It comes in Black, Gold or Sliver. Zinc looks like a million dollars when new. Once installed it will only last a couple of months. The friction surface of the rotor coated with zinc slows down the bedding process. Brake dust mixed with the road elements forms hydrochloric acid which eats away the zinc.

Powder Coated: We use polyester base powder coat which is designed for exterior use. Powder coating does not rust unlike zinc plating. The hat, veins and outer edge of the rotor is coated to prevent rusting. Powder coat will protect the rotor much better than zinc plating or hi-temp spay paint.

I never like to put another competitor down, but they are basically the same. Its how you advertise it. Me personally, I never like to powder coat rotors because that compound is so thick. We use to do it but sometimes it gives problems when installing. So we decided to stop. As you know, any part of the rotor that is not at par, it will not go on properly.

I will vouch for 60k worth of stay put zinc on the brembos. No rust except on braking surface after washing car.

these rotors are really tempting r1. i just bought HIDs though and dont know if i can afford drop 135 more dollars right now :(

I do apologize, I did not know about the rules here, and I will not sell until I get a vendor status. Sorry if I broke any rules here.

I say you are in the clear! As stated below.

Gauging Interest (GI) in a product is permitted as long as you do not conduct business in any way, shape or form BEFORE becoming an AV or AMM.

i searched the forum and didnt see a how to on how to install rotors. at least not in the how to section....

Take tire off. Take caliper off. Pull old rotor off studs. Put new one on studs. Squish piston back into caliper for fatter rotor & new pads. Put new pads in caliper. Put caliper back on. Bleed if you open up or replace any fluid retention parts like lines or caliper to get piston back in. Put tire back on. Same all around except on rears there's an allen bolt to retract piston into caliper instead of just squishing piston back in with c grips. Bleed all 4 corners if replacing lines or opening up the hydraulics.

yea i am gonna need more than that considering i've never done it. i dont have a c clamp either. gggr

for what it's worth... I'm strongly considering a set of those rotors as well, r1.

Let us know when you're approved to do business. Sounds like a great deal.

(band2)

i probably would/will if he's not been approved by the time i'm ready to buy.

gonna buy a set of wheels with my next pay check (hoooopefully), and then would be considering rotors and intake with the next one. so... within the next few weeks, i'd say.

i also need a new head unit/deck/whatever you prefer to call it.

damn. i have a feeling that i'm not the only one here who spends all their cashmoneys before actually being paid?? haha...

Of course NOT to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything... but do you have any idea what kind of group buy prices we might be looking at for the set of rotors that also include the pads?

mine are down to 3mm at the moment. So, needless to say, I'll be needing pads as well.

thanks.
