Yea, my e-brake sucks, i can drive with it up and it drives somewhat normal

is there a way to tighten it up wit a screw or something.???

need new pads, or the rotors almost gone, or even low brake fluid? and also drivin with the e-brake up isnt a very good idea just a thought

Actually, all those things above probably aren't true. The day I got my car my e-brake was extremely weak. My mom's 2000 ES is even worse...

It's not completely un-noticeable but when you just get in and start driving (especially with my MSP) it just feels like my car is engine breaking a little more..lol. With my dad's bmw his e-brake locks the lock wayyyy harder, so much so that you really have to dig into the gas to get going.

I'm guessing it's the protege design.

i think you can adjust the cable to the e-brake somehow...i know that's how my mom's rav4 was adjusted. i don't think it should be too different for the protege.

xtrememps- funny ass sig picture

It's easy. Take off the plastic panel that covers the hole where the e-brake is on the center console. On the left side of the handle (as you sit in the driver seat) there is a 10mm nut. Just tighten it about 2-3 turns, you will need a deep-well socket.

That's all. Takes 3 minutes.

should that work on a 95 pro?....even all gens?

I too have this proble. My fluid is topped, I do not need more pads, and the screw tightener by the e-brake handle is tightened all the way. I think I need to get my brakes re-adjusted. But i'm not sure

when I did my rear brakes my e-brake wasn't working so I adjusted the caliper by tightening a little screw on the inside of the caliper, to bring the pads in a little.
