dusters/plates

Hello all. This is my first post, I think I'm in the right place. First of all props to all involved in this Forum, very cool site. I've found endless amount of info.
Second of all just wanted to express my satisfaction for my new 2003 mica blk. P5. I've had it since friday and you can't keep me out of it. I plan on some minor mods to start out, so you'll be hearing more from me.
Anyway, a couple of questions for anyone with these experiences.

1. Will feather(cotton?)dusters hurt my paint? I notice with the black paint it gets a light dusting of dirt. Are the dusters o.k. for this or just dust, say in the garage. I see them used at car shows.
Are there certain brands to buy(or not to buy)?

2.Unfortunately my P5 came with a front lic. plate, and in trying to remove it(going for the smooth, clean look) I can't get one side to unscrew. It just keeps spinning like there's a bolt or something on the other side of the bumper but I can't see any access to the back. Any suggestions?

I did a search on this stuff and didn't find much.

Thanks!

welcome to the board. I use the california car duster on mine as do several other members of this board that i know of and i have nothing bad to say about it.
The bolts for my license plate just screwed out with nothing holding them from behind. you may contact your dealership about that and see what they say about it.

You might want to look into the California car duster for your dust issue. It's a duster for car exteriors (only to be used on clean cars to avoid scratching) that has a small amount of wax in the fibers to pic up dust and not harm your finish. They make one for the exterior and the interior. They are a little pricey IMO but seem to be good products. You can get them online or at a local auto parts store like Auto zone or pep boys.

grab the screw head with a pair of pliers and pull as you turn. should come out no problem. ya, those cal dusters work real well!

Thanks for the replies guys. I've tried pulling very hard on the plate holder as I unscrew but it doesn't budge, very frustrating. I'll try again but just seeing if anyone else has run into this problem.
