Just got BFG g-Force Sports put on to replace the OE tires. I went from 195/50/16 to 205/45/16 because that makes my speedo read 1% faster than what I'm actually going. I've noticed two things right away. 1. the g-Forces have noticeably more overall grip (my Dunlops were about 3/4ths gone), and 2. the Dunlops had much tighter on-center feel.
I'll elaborate on the second point. One of the reasons I ended up buying this car (used) was because it was so "direct". Any movement of the steering wheel immediately resulted in redirection of the car. Now with my g-Forces the on-center feel is mushy or floaty. I think this is mostly due to the difference in tire size. If you exaggerate the effect and imagine one tread that is considerably narrower than the wheel width and one that is considerably wider than the wheel, the one that is narrower will have less tread movement relative to the wheel. When the tread is wider than the wheel it tends to move side-to-side relative to the wheel in a turn. This is most likely what I've noticed at that initial steering input, and something for others to think about before deviating from the stock size.
I'm pretty sure I'll get used to it and the car still handles great and predictably , the ride is good, and the tires are quiet, but I miss the car being "tight" like it was with the OE tires. Just something else to think about.
BTW I can see the question coming - my pressure is right at 45 psi on the new BFGs.
