Hows the install?
It doesn't control timing directly. It does it indirectly by adding and removing fuel. I can log my timing and post it up. That information is greek to me, but if someone else would like to look at it and explain what's going on that would be great.PseudoSpeed said:I know this AFC is a great step in the right direction.. but what about timing advance? last i checked, this seems like a good reason why alot of people's motors blew. too much side load on rods that are less the thickness of my thumb.
I have read the other threads, but have one question. What is the difference between the Airflow Logistics version of this vs. the Standard PSC-1?jeffmsp said:its fine for your car and will smoothen out the power delivery. You should read some of the other threads on the AFC-- all this thread has to offer and more answered many many timesI believe there is a stock dyno w/ afc too.

Boosted Orange said:Yeah well its official...I installed the DSM AFC today and all i can say is (first) ! I cant even begin to explain how much of a difference I feel, plus no fuel cut which is SICK!!! The power is so much smoother and when it kicks it SLAMS!!!
The install was pretty easy, took me about 90 minutes. I didnt run into any problems at all, and I ended up mounting it inside the glove box. I no longer have any stalling issues, which I did have due to me running a Greddy RS vented. The idle seems to be very very very slightly rougher...it almost bounces between 500-600rpm's constantly, but its hardly noticeable until u look at the tach.
Just want to give a big (thumb) to DSMConvert for offering this product and HIGHLY recommend it to each and every MSP owner!

Apparantely there is some different firmware in place in the chips inside the PSC-1 that is specific for the MSP. I was told the same thing about the PSC-1 when I had my Lancer, RRM sells these for the Lancer for $430 without the R4 software. They said the PSC-1 is specifically made for each car. I think that's a load and that the PSC-1 is "tailored" for each car.BradC said:I have read the other threads, but have one question. Somewhere in the settings(don't have it in front of me) there is a setting called "Over Pressure", this should be set to around 1psi. Apparently there is a glitch that can cause the map to reset this value to -18psi or something, which causes the AFC to override the O2 sensor even at idle(put it into open loop). John at airflow logistics told me he thinks this value is changed somehow when transferring the file from win2k to win xp or something.SenorCorwin said:Nick, whats problems did you have before the AFC? A friend of mine is having some problems with his install, a very nasty idle and such... shot in the dark but im looking for some help.
