The hiboost intake runner has to go over the top because of the way the turbo is "facing".

As for heat...its negligable...how do I know...becuase I monitor the air intake temp via the haltech. With the FMIC it is further negated....

The IHI VF-22 is more efficent and larger than any T3...and Hiboost dyno'd the T3 and the VF-22 and the VF-22 was a better choice (all else being equal).

Is running the intake over the engine the ideal way...no... but given the advantage of the VF-22 and the Haltech...using stock injectors...made my decision.
 
Our kit has the runner on top of the valve cover for versatility. The kit fits different cars like the Ford Laser, Mazda Capella/626, Mazda 323 SP20 and Mazda Protege with the stock air box for the guys who don't want the noise from the open end filter.

In tets done, there was no significant change in power or inlet temperature because of its large front mount intercooler.

Our kit puts out the largest WHP numbers, so I think there is no big difference.
