Drizz-OH! build/progress thread

So yeah...installed the SU rear floor bar last night.. Modded the trunk carpet so the bar can be visible from the trunk and when the seats are folded down. Looks awesome.

Performance wise - the car feels lower to the ground now in the rear and definitely more stable and secure in the rear end, much tighter too. The car feels much more balanced and the ride is not rough by any means, it actually feels smoother.

For the $55 the 'dented' SU rear bar cost, I'd say it's definitely worth it. You can't see the dents unless you're looking for them anyway.

So I had a semi-impromptu photo shoot last night... during a thunderstorm. It was ******* epic.

The car was all dirty but the pics came out great. Check it.

photos look great, first one is my favourite, looks like it's peaking out of the shadows(peep) haha

Thanks!! Mine too! I'm sure we'll do a real shot later with bitchen scenery and the like after I finish up my exterior, but this was kinda a spur of the moment thing. I didn't even have time to put my paint-matched engine covers on lol.

New AEM DryFlow air filter installed today....HOLY s***!!! The car feels amazing now! Starts up much easier, idles smoother, accels smoother, shifts smoother with greatly reduced lag. Honestly feels like it made about the same difference as going from the stock box to the CP-e MAFci. My old filter was completely disgusting. Washing it now and the residue coming off of it is nearly black. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the cause of most of my recent issues. Maybe the filter was so clogged it wouldn't allow enough air @ the top of the RPM band to allow all the fuel to burn completely. But either way, my 6 is much happier. :D

Did an oil change today, my second with synthetic. Surprisingly, the old oil was disgusting after only 4K miles on its first synthetic batch. Hopefully that was just because there was still some crude oil that got left in the block when I did the first change. Put Mobil1 in again and it's driving so smooth now, esp with that new air filter I installed earlier this week. I got on the throttle a bit last night and I'm pretty sure I'm still pinging above 6K RPM's, which is leading me to really believe the spark plug gap is my issue. Eagerly waiting for the WeaponX plugs. When I change them I'll also do the EGR mod.

Not gunna lie, that is one clean mz6! Gotta give ya props for taking that car in a different direction than most! I know when I had my 3, I did the show part cause there was ZERO "go" hehe, but lookin good man!

Haha thanks man, it's actually just a regular Mazda6 with the NA v6 engine. It's got lots of body work but it also has a lot in the suspension and the engine has been modified and tuned. The car doesn't have much 'go' but it corners like it's on rails. ;)

^^ my bad, I knew it was just a regular 6...dunno why I typed it different. But I agree, w/ some suspension mods and the tires I had on my 3 that thing was unbelievable in corners!

Thanks!!!! I'm trying to do it up real aggressive without going overboard. Not sure if you've seen my boy Charlie's Pebble Ash 6 but I think he's got me beat. I swear that car is 80% CF.
