Driver Seat Collapsed

So I'm not a heavy guy, maybe 165, and the other day I was getting in the car and it felt like the left bolster collapsed. Since then the seat has rocked around a bit while driving but otherwise functions normally. Here's a pic of what I found after taking the side skirting off. That bracket with the half circle piece was welded to the round tube that runs horizontal under the front portion of the seat. The welded area snapped right off! Right now I've just got a small hose clamp holding it back together - just enough of a nub left on the bracket to catch with the hose clamp. Any suggestions on a permanent fix on the cheap?

Try a machine shop or body shop.

Have you owned the car since new? It almost seems like it could have been previous accident damage.

I've noticed on my 05 Mazda3 driver seat. I ended up buying a pair of seats for $50 so that I can either swap out the frame or replace the actual mounts if they are bent.

On your car I would either find a cheap seat, or try welding that piece back on.
