Driiiiiiiiftuuuu

i've done it, i have vids, but it's too risky to post on here. it's not really drifting by the way, but it is really fun slinging the car around and pulling back straight

Isnt it the other way around in Japan...KAs are the hottest things to put in Syilvias? I was reading about yoshita factory 180sx with a turbo KA. I guess anything american is hot over in Japan. I remember when GM bought the Cady CTS from Matrix over...everyone in tokyo nearly had an heart attack. Im sure they are in love with Mustangs and Corvettes ZO6 and C5s...although us american are probally sick of seeing them. But I must say...I really like the new Mustangs.
Kinda funny but when i was in japan people wanted levis jeans for 10000 yen or 100 dollars (used), some how they thought it was a good deal. Then again, they have stores that just sells american stuff, you know mustard, ketchup. It was really weird. I can't say much about cars, as I could not talk to them at all. However, when i was in Australlia, the guy give me a ride in his R-32 skyline and told me that to ride in a z06 or cobra R would be his dream(no vipers they suck). Different culture = different taste and you always crave what you don't have.

I have a video of me Drfting... LOL if anyone wants to host it i can put it up tommorow...

So, what car were you drifting in? Cause it sure as hell wasn't a Protege.

Actually yes... it was the MSP but it isn't by far a real drift but its kinda kool

hahaaha ass dragging..i dog it through snow banks and icey parking lots..yo pretzel logic..drag your ass out of the catskills and come down to the jersey meet..

Sure, you can have oversteer in a FWD car. You can slide. You can ass-drag. But you CAN NOT EVER drift in a FWD.

And I really don't see why you'd want to. It's proven that grip is the fastest way around the turns.

Agreed...grip is better for racing...faster. Drifting is funner. FWD "drifting" or "ass draging" is ghey. The word drifting shouldnt even be associated with FWD.

ive kicked my back end out a bunch of times, fun fun, no e-breaking... seems the ass end of our cars is to light, or to high.. its easy as hell to "drift" our cars around an off camber turn... happy driving!

That would be courtesy of the Racing Beat rear sway bar.

P.S. I lived in Westford for about 6 years. I left when I was in 2nd grade. Did you go to Westford Academy?

In a FF, it is not really drifting. I refer to it as "ass dragging". Because basically that's what you're doing.

Ebrake is your friend.

I drifted, you can't initiate easily like a RWD. I did it by going fast into a turn, and then lightly tapping the brake to weight transfer enough to the front while turning hard to break rear traction, after that it's tire squealing and slight counter steering. It's a good feeling. Watch out for poles though

"Ass-dragging" is fun, too... about as much fun as you can have in FWD car. I go on business trips a lot so ass-dragging in rental cars is always the best.

But does anyone else have as hard a time as me when trying to ass-drag the MSP's? I tried it once and the car just bounced around sideways, which wasn't fun at all... felt like I was gonna break the car. My stock potenzas don't seem to like sliding around in the rain, much. They hop and skip around instead.

I don't know if it's just my car... but I tend to hop around a lot whenever I accelerate hard in rain. I have the AWR front motor mount (M/T) installed, too... but I still hop like crazy in the rain when I peel out. Is this normal? Isn't the mount supposed to stop the hopping?

I've never actually gotten my car to hop. I'm running illuminas, with rb springs, and stock p5 dunlops. I've got the rb rear sway, but I' haven't put it on yet, when I do, I'll try it again.

basically all i do to ass-drag is turn in hard at maybe 20-35mph, pull the ebrake, counter & gas. I practiced in the snow to get the hang of it.

If you don't counter, you oversteer and face the direction you came from. Sometimes if you don't gas to pull yourself straight, the same thing happens.

Tried? No. Done? Yes. Lift oversteer is the best way to do it. Go into a turn, turn sharp and lift hard. Back end will come out cause it unsettles the rear end. On FWD cars I've found you don't have to countersteer as much as RWD, and if you overcorrect you're totally ******. The back end comes out relatively easy on our car. I've never pulled the ebrake in an attempt to drift. The only times it's really happened to me are going into a turn too hot, or one time I accidently lifted and back came out. With our LSDs we can power out of it though, which is nice. Be careful, though. Attempting to drift is a great way to hit stuff.

DITTO! So much fun. Only got to do it once... before the boom, but I am gonna be doing it again soon! (10 points for me because I rhymed). (yippy)

i love to ass drag. In some situations i think its useful. Like in a u turn you wont have to slow down to engage the turn. you could just go at it and pull the ebrake. Dont know if its faster, but its fun.

haha, its also a nice way to get a reckless driving ticket.

I stole two trays from Taco Bell last night. I went to an empty parking lot. Backed my rear tires on to the trays. Applied my e-brake and went to town. I got a good 5 to 6 revolutions before I shredded one of the trays to bits. It was awesome. I'm sure some of you have seen the video of the kids with the srt-4 doing the same thing. I'm definitely going to do it again. As far as drifing, no, I've never tried it just lunch-traying.

Yea, I've used trays before, daz fun. So in our cars, I never got the courage to suddenly turn the wheel hard; it would seem that the car would just turn over. is that true?

I dont think you'd flip. ive gone about 50 in the rain and pulled the ebrake, turned the wheel, countersteered and somehow i did a 360 and kept on going. one of the funnest times i had in my car. wish i got it on videotape.
