Drifting Can you do it?

has anyone here heard of the options auto videos if you have and want to learn how to fwd drift then check out the ff civic video its mainly about some real bad ass hatches but it also teaches you how to drift with a fwd car using the e brake its actually quite cool but looks very difficult.

I have drifted in my p5 before. It's not a hard thing to do but it can be difficult with a FF layout. The most common and easiest way would be to use the e brake. The second being a braking drift this is done by using the foot brake hard into a turn at high speeds to make the car slide out.The main thing that makes it hard to drift a FF is carrying the drift long enough to make it look good. This is usually done by speed, you need a good amount of speed to carry a far drift in a FF. Second the exit and exit speed , because of the FF the exit tends to be really rough and you usally don't have a good exit speed . It is a bit more rough in the p5 cause of the added weight in the back. the thing most people forget about drifting is that the main purpose of drifting is to go through the turn at higher speeds by pushing the lateral grip of the car and controling it in a slide.

I was racing one of my friends one day on the way back to his house and as we were exiting the freeway, you go up a slight incline into a 90 degree right hand turn labeled as "20MPH". I was in front prob. doing about 60(in my Civic), hit the brakes and down shifted into 2nd gear. Before i knew it the back end had swung around like i had never felt before. I got back on the gas because my friend was right behind me not realizing that my back end was out as far as it was. I couldn't keep it straight enough pull out of it though. I left off the gas as soon as i regained control of the car, but the over steer had already got me. I let off the gas and was facing the wrong direction. It was definately a thrill, but doing it when you aren't expecting it is a little scary...
