Does your MSP do this?

:
97 Maxima SE 5spd
I've noticed that my turbo doesn't spool depending on RPM, but on how much gas I'm giving it. I'm a total newb to turbos so should it be doing this?

i was just playin with this earler, if im easy on the throddle and get to about 20mph @ 3000 rmp in 2nd, then just WOT, the turbo spools like god fast, throws ya nicely in your seat.

Our turbo kicks in under load, if there is no load, no turbo......generally

Wanna try something even cooler? In 3rd gear for example, hold down the brake & gas at the same time so you maintain a constant speed/rpm. If done correctly you should now be at full boost while holding a steady speed. Letting off the brake while staying WOT results in instant acceleration. This is called brake-boosting. Very helpful when racing from a roll. :)

sounds like brake torqueing...doesn't sound like it would be very good for the tranny...

Not bad for tranny ,just bad on the clutch. If you don't do it all the time you will be fine. Its just a little added stress and wear on the clutch.

heres a question...how is it that people say they were at a stop sign or something and another car pulled up and they let them here the turkey? There is no load on the engineat a stop. Are they just holding the brakes?
