Had my 2015 CX5 for about a month now and the text message feature never worked up until this past Saturday when lo and behold I received a text message, it down loaded and then I was able to play it back! I haven't upgraded my phone OS or made any changes to anything but for whatever reason it works now. FM I guess....

I have just posted the same problem with mine.
mine is an se lux nav 2014. To start with the texting was fine could read up to 15 messages now it won't let me look at them or read them out to me and says download failed too.
my phone is a htC X+1. So why does it work first of all then stop working.

I may well have to go and visit the dealer. have you done that yet?

I have had the text messaging working intermittently and its been working fine for a month or so now, of course I am probably jinxing it by talking about it. I found if I delete some old messages or save any pictures and then delete them from the text and re-pair the phone it works. It is extremely slow but works when I want to hear a text while driving. I can even respond to them with a set of pre-programmed replies that I have to select. Of course by the time it finishes downloading I can be at my destination and view it on my phone anyway. I am hoping the mysterious fix for the Ipod resume issue might also improve the slowness of the texting.

Since my phone upgraded to Android v4.4.3, now it won't pair at all, so, I don't have any bluetooth functions, no text, no email, no phone options.

After going through configuration with the guy at infotainment.mazdahandsfree.com, he wasn't able to get me to connect either, he stated they are expecting a firmware update by the end of October. He wouldn't promise it, but, his understanding is, that it's coming.

Hopefully he's correct, and hopefully it fixes all of our issues!!

Hello,
"Other" for me

It's work with my two iphone 4s under ios 8.0.2 & 4 under iso 7.1.1 since the exchange of the bluetooth module for the new one supporting correct musique resuming after a stop & start :-)

Do you clear out your text messages and MMS as soon as you get them or do you let them build up?

I didn't clear any text messages recently.I do receive less texts than the average person, though.I have about 50 on my phone now.

Good to know, of course I'm still stuck on 4.4.2 and who knows when AT&T will release the next update. I'll keep my fingers crossed that that may resolve the issue.

Never has worked for me - until today. I recently received an OTA upgrade from Verizon to 4.4.2 KitKat Android. Had my daughter send me a test txt msg, saw it come in. Lo and behold - it and all my other queued messages which had previously failed their downloads successfully downloaded.

I'll have to test this further for confirmation it works consistently. Here's hoping...

I have a 2015 CX5 with iPhone 6 Plus and the text message feature does not work. Nor the USB iPod feature. This radio is terrible.

Went out this morning and saw probably a dozen .txt messages which were downloaded dating back to mid-October. I was able to play them all w/no problems.
Looking good so far.

Mine would work for a few days when my HTC One M8 was on Android v4.4.2. Then it stopped working entirely, wouldn't even pair up when my phone updated to v4.4.3. Recently my M8 updated to v4.4.4 and all of a sudden, it now has worked for a couple weeks, and still working. I probably jynx'd myself and it won't work tonight, but, so far, so good with v4.4.4 without updating the Infotainment center.

Judging from some of the responses here it seems like a number of people are having success on version 4.4.4. I'm hoping I can find out for myself if ATT ever gets around to putting out the update for the Samsung S4.

After I received a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with 4.4.4, the text message feature now works. Previously with my old Samsung Note 2 on 4.4.2, it error out when trying to download the text messages. Although on another new phone, an Apple iPhone 6 Plus with the latest IOS 8.1, it doesn't work with the text feature.

To the ones that posted that they got it working with Windows Phone, please confirm how you got it done or was it Cortana through BT

It looks like any listed phone works, as long as you have very few messages stored. The HU must download all of them, for some extremely non-smart reason, and that's where it fails.

No text, no messages! Phone is Sony Xperia Z1 Android 4.4.4! (Can not load messages, try again later)

I have an ATT Galaxy S4 and I finally received the update from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4 and low and behold the text messages started working again, even though I probably had hundreds of old text messages saved in my phone. I'm not really expecting it to last though, and will update when the text message function stops working.
