Do you need better rear shocks for Pro-Kit springs?

Hi guys,

I've searched a lot both the forum and web but cant get a clear answer, so i'm calling on you experts!

I'm getting my first mod ever on my 2010 3 hatch gs with pro-kit springs!

So i've read a lot about how stock shocks can hold on a long time before wearing prematurely but i live in Quebec, where everything is falling apart, and im paying time to my local carshop so i prefer to get the right shocks for the springs right away...

Then the guy tell me he would go with some KYB gr-2. Great i thought, read about them and how they are good option since the pro-kit is a "moderate" lowering (under 1.25", right?). But then he tell me that they are only made for the front and that the rear don't need better shocks anyway...

So that's the question; Also, how would that affect the handling? And are there other option (cheaper) than koni FSD and yellow?

BIG thanks for your time guys

Since you're not a competitive driver with specific needs I doubt you'd know the difference between oem and some kyb. And I believe the spring upgrade alone would feel substantially better than stock. So get the springs mounted up and enjoy.

Most after market company's making springs. Make them to be used on factory struts. Unless your struts have a lot of miles on them or are already worn out you wont have to replace your struts to get the benefit from the springs.
