Do not buy retrofits from 2088 msp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just said **** it and didnt feel like dealing with excuses. i had a feeling hed probably do the same thing to me. i didnt wanna hear the excuses like "they were used" "they were fine when they were on my car" and so on. my cutoff is off by a lot, literally 1 projector is pointing straight(driver side good thing at least) but my passenger side 1 is pointing down to the ground. cant even see the cutoff on peoples bumper at night.

right now im just focusing on getting my car back on the road. ill worry about the headlights later, theyre annoying because theyre not set right, but at least they work so ill make do.

wow that is crazy. have you tried using the adjustment knobs on the back housing to bring the passenger projector up? when i got mine both of them were pointed at the ground. You have to aim them

havent really messed with them. my cars been sitting at my jobs garage until i get replacement parts in for my suspension. after i get everything i need replaced and aligned im gonna mess with the headlights.

Then what the hell was the point in paying someone to do a service? Send me your short block and I will rebuild it... When I over torque your rotating assembly and your engine develops rod knock after 100 miles "you should have done it yourself" and just forfeit the money you paid me to do it...

Ryan, Sorry to hear Kid. You could always s*** in home boys Split second. lol

I was actually specifically talking about a retofit, but way to be a dumbass. You can't expect someone to make a retrofit specifically perfect for your car, WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE YOUR CAR. There really is no way for them to aim it and have it perfect when u bolt it on the car, hence why MattV left all his open so you could aim them when u got them on the car. All retrofits require a little tweaking since no car is the same and no headlight is the same.

then why even offer the service if you can't do it correctly? No where in our conversation did he mention this and the new mini's are plug and play not a cut and screw job like matt used to do. Also how come my passenger side came out with perfect cutoff?

I'll have to disagree the part there is no way to aim them without having the car. If the car has never been in a crash you should at least have the rotational aiming right. You should able to do that if you offer these services. X aiming, UP and DOWN, you can do this with the upper stock headlight screw, and Y aiming, screw that is on the side, witch adjusts left and right aiming can be attained but I do agree that many variables may affect aiming like different suspensions for starters.

From my own experience, I had to fix one headlight that was aiming too low and was pretty obvious. But rotational aiming is a must have out of the box.

As far as the crooked-ness of the cut-off, they either were not tested with the lights on, or he just didn't care enough to try and fix it. I know they can be a little off (if using mini H1s) because there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room with the adapter plate. With the bulbs, if they were ordered from the likes of DDM or any other company that offers cheap lights, the bulb colors do tend to very a little from one to the next, even if the same temp. The dust is inexcusable like others have said, everything should be wiped down with alcohol prior to re-install of the lens to make sure everything is clean, including the projector itself.

Sorry to hear of your issues.

As stated, you CAN get the proper alignment even without having the car they are going on.

As to components used, I am assuming he is using DDM hid components (which have shown multiple times to not quite seat right in the mini h1's on hid planet) but they are cheaper

Taking the few extra few minutes to mock up the lights and mark the halogen cutoff is not time consuming, just am extra step

As to mattvs lights, they were minih1's as well

Sucks to see multiple people having issues but without being an approved vendor there isn't much anyone can do except live and learn

Hopefully Ivan will rectify the issues here though.

Sorry to hear about this as well...Thanks for the PM heads up, 2.0t03speed...We've also got a thread about this in the Moderator Forum.

2088 MSP has now been labeled a "Potential Scammer" (below his avatar) and pending further investigation, he may be permanently banned.

cliff notes:
said retros are dusty, have mis matched bulbs, and have a crooked projector cutoff.

dayum, a lot changes in 2 weeks.

so i take the primary financial responsibility on myself and order all the parts ahead of time, just to be able to get things done quickly and ship them out to you guys as fast as possible and this is what i get.

let's get back to the above quote.

it took you a week to find there was stuff wrong with the projectors and the overall build. I'm working in my kitchen bro, not a hermetically sealed room, and confusing paint texture with dust is hardly an expert opinion. here are the exact pics i sent you before shipping out the lights.

here is the way the projector is mounted in the stock lamp reflector:

and here is how the projector is mounted to the locator plate:

only the single channel in the threads is what holds the projector from spinning and thus having your cutoff line being at an angle and judging from your own picture on the first page, its off by only a few degrees! Thats hysteresis, not a severe failure.

and last, you opened a paypal dispute for 75 bucks, what's that for? the pain and suffering? here is the breakdown of what everything costs:

lol dude if you just would of contacted me none of this s*** would of happened. Especially when I've been told that you not responding when people have problems is nothing new.the 75 is for me to pay someone to fix all the problems I have with them. Also you taking the blunt of the financial responsibility? I sent you the money upfront for you to order the headlights and everything else. Btw the reason I haven't sent that bulb back is because I haven't heard a word from you I'll have it sent out tomorrow morning.

also its hard to really tell the quality of something when all you have is camera phone pictures. Btw I thought you told me you use new glue when resealing these things

soon im gonna attempt to make my own halo projectors and i have seen a tutorial on youtube where this guy marked the headlight on the floor and marked the cutoff of the light on the wall, and when he placed the projectors inside he made sure they had the same cut off, something ivan probably didnt do, well either way his headlights looked plane sick, just needed better quality

I bought the other pair of tuxedo hids. I will install the passenger side today to see if it is off.
