So I got my car back from the dealer today when it was idling very poorly the last time I was up there (about a week ago). I get it home with CEL and all, and ya know, I figure it's okay to drive...WRONG! I drove it up and then down my street after resetting the ECU. I started to see a blinking CEL...bad news begins. I then pull in my driveway and smoke is coming from under the hood...bad news gets worse. I quickly pop the hood and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, A COOKED TURBO! I am so pissed off right now it's ridiculous. I can't believe that when I took my car in to get body work done there were no mechanical problems at all, but then when I get it back from the mazda dealer body shop it's reading 10 VAC? THEN when I get it towed back home finally the turbo is COOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sl;agh;akldfhg;ahdgkh MOTHER FUJCl;ksheagdhgkahg!!!!!!!!!!

problem he will find os that when he took the keys, it is out of their control... what dealer? King's, Jake Sweeney or Jeff Wyler?

Wyler, but I don't know if it was them or the problem just got worse really...I bought the car with a problem...it was a previous members car. Jeff. I dunno if he ****** it up, or if "the kid at the subaru dealer" did, but all I know is that I'm PISSED!

EDIT: Dean, I know man, it sucks, but I dunno what the hell to do...I'm just madd frustrated.

Thats messed up. Call the dealer and ask them if it was having problems while it was there.

They wouldn't read an engine code because they knew there was something wrong with it before if that tells you anything, but I dunno...whatever. I think I'm gonna be tearing it down here soon, just waiting to get a new turbo. Nothing is going to come of any dealer problems unless it involves a lawyer.

I took my car to the dealer in springdale so they could fix a broken fan blade. they said they had to keep it for like 2 days. I started getting this weird feeling so I told them I want my car back and I will fix the blade. they tried getting the tech on the 2 way but he wouldnt answer. finally after about 10 minutes I see him pull into the car lot from the rear entrance. he pulled up with a duffle bag full of clothes in the back seat. I think that son of a b**** was going to take my car out for the night. he handed me the keys and got into his car which was right next to the gate where they lock the cars up at night.

I hate to tell you this, but it's well known that quite a few places DO TAKE the customer's cars out for joy rides.

Ghost was thinking about trading in his RSX and went into a dealership. The salesman told him that he could test drive a car over the weekend, but that he'd have to leave his car there as "collateral". They signed some documents and off he went with the new car and left his keys at the dealership. The very next night, he gets a phone call at 11:30pm from the finance manager. The car would start, but it wouldn't go into gear. He asked him what he hell he was doing calling him that late on a Saturday night? Apparently, a few of the guys took the car out for a joy ride and burned out the transmission.

Needless to say, he traded in the car and got a really good deal on the new one. His old car ended up costing the dealership $2500 in repairs from what they did. One of the mechanics even told him, "When these guys get a new turbo or super-charged car, they rag the hell out of it. They took your car out almost every chance they got and at least one of the guys took it home."

Yep, that's one of the "perks" of the job to them. Although sometimes there is a legitmate reason. Sometimes they will try to duplicate a problem the customer complains about that doesn't show up in the shop.

MSpeed2397 is your car blue? Did you buy it from Jake Sweeny Subraru? Let me know I know who the previous owner was then.

Yes, that's my car...minus the mspeed sticker now. Subaru sold it to an auto auction actually and I bought it from superior hyundai.

Did you know Jeff? There was a reason that he traded it in, and no it wasn't due to having a second kid.

One of the main reasons -- if not THE biggest reason -- I rarely let ANYBODY work on my car without me standing right there. And I've only left my car with someone else overnight once .. After I had my accident and it was sitting in the body shop. And even when I dropped it off and I gave them the keys, I flat out said to the entire group of garage people, "I know the mileage on the car right now, as of when I dropped it off, to the tenth of a mile. If there's more than a SINGLE additional mile on the car when I get it back, there will be hell to pay." .. I got my car back with basically the exact same mileage on it, heh.

It's just sad that you have to be threatening like that in order for people to respect your private, personal property. I mean, you'd think that these dealership people would realize that us 'tuners' are likely to be THAT much more psychotic about our cars ..

No doubt...That cars got some issues.
Thats just through the grapevine info...And I know the previous owner as well.

As far as I'm concerned, I just want to find out wtf is up with it, and fix the b**** before it's unfixable.
