Digital Camera Purchase

I'm gonna say Canon as well. I bought the A70 in the summer and I'm very happy with it. Since you're well-versed in photography, this one has manual features (that I can't live without) that many others in its price range don't. That was the deciding factor for me.
I'm actually thinking about upgrading to the A80 right now.

that's a Canon G2, on Auto, with an idiot noob using it :) 2nd time I ever really used that camera (not mine) and I didn't have a f'n clue what I was doing and it still came out nice.

Canon lenses are awesome. I like Nikon as well.
 
I have that dsc-p32 and it works great. You have a lot of options for that camera including that movie mode with sound. Though it sucks up the battery pretty bad, I still considered it a good value for my purchase. Pictures are very decent.
