Did I break my CD changer? player says 'NO DISC'

Well, I might have screwed myself here...

I had the HU out to splice into the wires so I can add an amp. I forgot to remove the 4 CDs in there before pulling out the HU (I knew better, but it slipped me).

Now the HU says 'No Disc' when I press the CD button. It won't eject or load a disc. I am guessing the CDs shifted around inside and got jammed when the HU was out. I did turn the HU on its side and upside down while trying to attach and remove the harnesses to it.

I tried to reset the power a few times, no luck. After I reconnect the power, the CD motor will try to run for a split second only. There is no motor action when I trying to load or eject a CD. It just acts like there is no disc there, and it won't let me load one.

Ideas?

I can go to the dealer, but since I took out the HU myself to add an amp and put in new speakers, I don't know how that can be covered under warranty?

Oh, its a 2008 Mazda3 6 Disc (not Bose)

Any advice, thanks.

No clue, but I'll put a plug in here that I'm selling my 6-disc HU for $40 + shipping from Delaware.

Well, amazingly enough the CD player started to work this morning.

It wouldn't work and kept saying 'No Disc' and refusing to allow me to insert a CD. So I kept pressing the CD mode, load and eject buttons. About 1/3 of my way to work, I must have hit a road bump and knocked the CD inside back in place. The HU started to read the CD and is working.

Moral of the story is still to remove all media from optical drives before you move them....

Well, the CD player stopped working again on the way home.

Ideas?

@localkineguy, what model car is your HU from?
