maybe i am over reacting?(boom02) i dunno... (scratch) (freak)
from MY understanding, the REAL autoexe grilles sit the same, with a slight gap. thats MY understanding, but i could be wrong.

holy s***! SAME EXACT THING happened to me! when i first put it on, it was good and tight. by the third day, this is the result:

i've PMed amie, but it's only been a few days, and with the volume of PM's she gets, i'm not too worried. i talked to my body man and he said he can fix the gaps and make it fit like a glove for $100, so eh...

and as for the autoexe grille, it fits much better. i'll have dave come show you what his looks like later.

comparison shots between DGM and autoexe

ok, got some comparison shots between an autoexe grille and a dg grille:

full autoexe grille. notice lack of obvious gaps. whatever "gaps" are there are pretty darn even. fitment is pretty much perfect.

thanks dave for doing the ghetto "key test"

it's very even, as you can see. can't fit the key in what might look like a gap in the full picture.

now for DG's grille:

on th edriver's side, it's nice and tight. the grille itself has a dark edge on it, so it looks like there's a gap, but it's actually pretty darn tight. the passenger side, however, can swallow my key whole.

my auto exe grill has no gaps.. BUT.. i paid out the ass for that thing.. Like almost $250 USED.. good luck guys.. im sure dg will make it rite -=P

DAmn, I wonder if I could still return mine later on if I get a chance to test fit them.. if they don't fit.. :/

I'm pretty happy with my fit... going to get painted in about 2 weeks when school is out. My shop is backed up, so it can't be done before then anyway. Grill fit is good, but like everyone said, I can see the gap on the pass. side. I say screw it. I waited this long after 2loww and all that s***, I'm just gonna get it painted and chances are I won't even car. Either that or I'll just sell it. Guy at the shop said urathane is better, but a lot harder to repair than fiberglass... hmm. I hope it's good enough to be able to avoid having to be repaired... that was the whole point to begin with. Oh well I'm happy anyway so I'll just shut up now. BTW please excuse my dirty car... I'm not worthy :(

Oh and BTW the lip is just more or less hanging on there... I'm pretty sure those gaps are gonna close right up once it's pulled tight up on the bumper and bolted/afixed down.

laser mp5, looks nice dude. i agree with you totally. under normal circumstances, i am an absolute perfectionist, but after waiting for so long for this stuff and especially after that whole 2loww ordeal, i just dont have the patience or energy to send it back because of a tiny gap on one side. we all went through enough with 2loww to the point where as long as we get the product and it fits, we will be happy.

thanks again amie
**** 2LOWW!!!

if someone can get the grille painted and post pics, i'd appreciate it. i want to see how the gap looks once everything is color matched.

thats what i plan on doing. hopefully i'll have pics today or tomorrow

for the people installing the lip themselves.... did you pre-drill your holes before you sent the lip to get painted?

i am also curious...i just got mine now its sitting outside in the sun :D i know why they didnt spend all day packaging that stuff - its like indestructable.

I will take pics of the grill and show what it looks like and the gaps...I have not tryed the grill due to the fact I am geting th lower mess to go into the grill...don't like it opened ....will post pics in a few

Edit: Wanted to take pics but batterys died .......sorry......... (nervous)

I pre drilled my holes tonight. I used a small drill bit and put a little larger dia. screw in to hold it. I did it inside the wheel well, next to the lowest OEM clip.

I still couldnt get the gaps in the front to go away after trying different positions, so I just drilled the backs to fit how I liked. I am hoping once I get it painted I can 3M the front the way I want. If not, it still looks good, the gaps on this lip are not like the other lips, where the problematic areas are by the fogs.

we shall see
